Yes, there is a reason and it is because weather cheats were broken by an update a while ago. Good news is that a modder has made it so those cheats are able to work again. You can find it here: https://patreon.com/posts/cheat-fix-for-22697405

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you please explain a bit?

You place the file in your Mods folder. If you don't have one, just create one in your Sims 4 directory.

I got it figured out.

Also is there a way to cycle the weather normally?
I don't get anything to happen unless I use the cheats

What do you mean by cycle the weather normally?

In the Options menu in game you can set the length of the seasons, if that's what you mean? So you can set them for 7 days each, or more depending on how long you want each season to last.

I didnt know this so the weather machine is effected?

The weather machine fortunately is not affected, however any weather cheats typed in the cheat bar no longer work without having the mod. I believe MCCC fixes it automatically too, but not 100% sure.

Without using a weather cheat all i get is sun and cycle through the seasons. I dont get rain or snow or anything ...
