I was expecting it to be the best pack. Now it's only one big disapointment...
Definetely the worst Seasons pack in series..
Forget about flat snow...
Leaves fall off the tress on our eyes.. It does not look as nice as it did in The Sims 3... Yes, I know I can still play it..
Guess I will, knew that I would be disapointed.
Light looks awfully yellow on the snow. Leaves on the ground look like they were made in Paint..
And gameplay? Again! Again we're getting a little for a lot.. I don't need this pack to make holidays. Just can do things that I can do without the pack and pretend that the certain day is a holiday. Holidays base on interactions that are already in the game..
Not even gonna mention that new clothes are mostly recolours of objects already in game..
But can you get your entire neighborhood to decorate for the season? Can you automatically get a day off from work/school for your "ho?
I actually like the lighting -- looks quite realistic for cloudy weather. The only recolor I've noticed is the new Love Day dress. We're getting two different types of skating, water balloons and snowball fights (and you don't need a special object for the fights!), new harvestable plants, bees that actually pollinate plants as well as do a lot more, a new career with two tracks (people always complain we don't have enough careers), both a gardening overhaul and glass roofs free in tomorrow's patch, swings (I've lost track of how many people have wanted swings for their playgrounds and back yards)...that sounds like quite a bit, especially added on to both the calendar system and the notion of weather as a whole especially when you take into account the different climates they had to deal with.
Pro tip: If you set yourself up to be disappointed, you likely will be. I try to find the parts of each pack that contribute the most to my style of game play, and when it comes to this pack, it's going to be a major factor. Seasons means I have to figure out what to do with my garden plants, or just leave them outside and figure my income's going to be less in Winter. Or my Sim kids are going to have to figure out how to spend those rainy days indoors.
