With the current event involving time travel happening right now, I wanted to share a bit of a blast from the past here. Also, a teaser for a future story arc.
Kemps wasn't the original Patriarch of the Zalrian Pod or the original Guardian of the Sea with a Blue Tail. A very very long time ago, Kemps and Calum had a father named Finn who held the responsibility of being both a Guardian of the Sea and the Patriarch of the Zalrian Pod.
If there is one Universal Truth, it's that merboys will be merboys. Also, Calum was once a merling. Can't forget that.
Another Universal Truth, Merlings will be Merlings too.
Finn, and Kemps and Calum's mother, fell victim to an ancient human-merfolk conflict while Kemps was still a Merboy and passed away protecting the seas and their family. Kemps inherited the responsibilities of the Pod Patriarch and the Guardian of the Sea as an Orphan. Only Kemps and Calum remained of their pod when they escaped the conflict.
After a very long time and before becoming an adult merman, Kemps had his own encounter with a human girl that resulted in shaping his opinion of all humans. While the conflict that took his parents was bad, he learned the truth of those events and didn't blame humans for that.
Anyways,
I also realized I needed to update the Screenshot for the Vatore Pod to include Lucian. I think this turned out well.
I'm in the process of writing chapter 6, and to keep this thread alive up until May, I'll drop little updates similar to this here.
I look forward to seeing what others do for MerMay in the Sims. I hope everyone is looking forward to chapter 6.
It was sad that Finn and Kemp and Callum’s mother passed away as a result of the conflict with humans, whilst protecting the seas and their family 🙁It was good though that their sons escaped from the conflict and that Kemp took over the role of Patriarch and Guardian from his father. The screenshots that you have posted are great.

I used the option in CAS to play with genetics to create Calum and Kemps’s parents. I created Finn and Naida Zalrian.

All my merfolk share the same first two traits. The third influences their unique personality. I let them discover personality traits from there.
Interestingly, Finn has an extremely similar face to an adult Calum but a build that is closer to Kemps’s build as an adult.
