Another thing I recently changed was turning the totally uninteresting national park into a camping ground. Now I still don't know what to do with the museum lot, but maybe I will turn that one into a fun park where you can actually, you know, do something.
You're right, I didn't even consider that. Oh well, then I'll just stick to my previous approach of not bringing any toddlers or pets to Selvadorada in the first place, because I really don't see how they could benefit from such a vacation. The one time I did bring a cat, hoping it might help dig up artefacts, unwittingly trigger traps or do anything interesting at all, it just got bitten by a squirrel the second it entered one of those stupid bushes and was sick for the remainder of the vacation because there was no vet around.
Not that it matters all that much to me anyway, I don't need everything to be family-friendly.
Not long after the museum in Oasis springs, I also built my own cantina right next to it and placed a food stall so people can taste some Selvadoradian dishes before going on vacation. It has actually become one of my favourite public lots.

And now, on to Granite Falls...

Not sure that would work anyway - as the minute my sims walk away from a toddler - step off that lot anyway - the game sends the toddler to the games daycare and I can't get them back until my sim goes home.

I love the idea about relocating the Museum back to one of the neighborhoods so that sims can gain important "pre-knowledge and history" about the Selvadorada culture.
