In all of my saves Newcrest is mainly populated with residential lots.
I use Llama Lagoon to place a big park I built a while ago with stuff to do for children and toddlers, but it also has a greenhouse with mostly perfect, spliced plants. The remaining lots are usually tradtional looking family homes.
Ridgeline Drive is for my modern/industrial style residential builds. These homes are for single YA/A professionals, who usually have some kind of relationship with each other in that particular save.
Bridgeview has community lots mostly catering to YA/A in my game amongst them my favourite nightclub 'Club Slay'. It is the made-over Maxis build 'Club Slate' that was added with Newcrest. I updated it with newer packs (mostly Moschino SP) to look more stylish and I also added a basement for some other stuff I wanted to have on the lot for dates etc. Then of course a Spa or gym and a restaurant or bar. I use the small 20x15 lots to house game-generated townies that received a make-over and deserve to be considered for a bigger role in one of my own Sims' lives one day as friends, flings or partners.
I wouldn't say that Newcrest is one of my favourite worlds, because it is a bit generic, but I do like it and use it a lot actually.
