This is a forum, we’re talking to each other as a group. I read that reason as to why one door was lacking and to me it read as an excuse because it doesn’t make sense at all to me. Still doesn’t. Sorry. Doesn’t mean you have to agree, doesn’t mean I’m right, it just means I could understand MidnightAura’s reasoning there. To me it sounds like trying to find an excuse as well, regardless who said it. That’s totally irrelevant. Don’t take everything as a personal attack, it’s not.
It makes no sense to me either. A person who can teleport doesn't need a 'secret entrance', much less stairs leading up to it.
There’s this island in Champs les Sims where you end up after exploring a tomb and there is no way to return to land (water everywhere and the diving well that gets you there is closed), certainly not when WA was released and sims couldn’t swim in open water yet. That one is clearly meant to be part of gameplay, because in the same pack your sim can learn to teleport (martial arts) and the only way to enter that tomb is by destroying a boulder, for which you need an axe your sim has to find in China after exploring a couple of other tombs first. So there it makes perfect sense, it’s a clear invitation to meditate. But no back door, lol? No. They simply forgot and to be honest, for me it wouldn’t be much of a problem (it’s too easy to add one), but like lilsimsie’s pointed out quite convincingly, it’s just a visible part of a much deeper problem.
If you're talking about the island I'm pretty sure you're talking about, you absolutely can get back. It may be something they fixed later, but the dive pool doesn't close -- IIRC, you have to be on a certain side of the divepool to get back, and getting to that side takes a couple of dives.
However, they do have a very bad mistake in a China tomb. A non-routable area in a narrow passage way. The only way I've ever been able to get around it is going into build/buy mode and removing a wall, though just expanding it may work as well.
I don’t think they could fix things in Sims 3 worlds? And the not being able to go back is a diving well setting you can choose when creating a tomb. So if you want to you can ‘fix’ it yourself in build mode. I actually loved my sims (several did the tomb) couldn’t return and were sort of trapped on the island.
I know how excited I was to meet one of Simmers on forums that made some of my favorite Sims 3 worlds rflong. But yes I would suggest corrected worlds for the Sims 3.

I meant EA couldn't fix worlds for Sims 3 ;)
