What Has Caused The Family Tree To Go Like This?

I created a new sibling for my sim self's mother via play with genetics and when i went back to the game, her side of the family tree now looks like this:

This has caused my sim self to have "three parents" The dead father is the original father that passed away and the live father is a re-creation which i replaced the dead one with via MCCC:

I have no other game play mods except from MCCC so I don't know why the tree has messed up here.

Yes. It was very weird. My Cantrell kids had just graduated from Uni and for some very odd reason, Joseph Cantrell, my patriarch, was no longer the father of Erik! I tried to use MCCC to reattach him to his father, by simply connecting him to his siblings that were still connected to both parents, but it all went wonky. I ended up, if memory serves, having to roll back a save (save recovery, I think I used) to a time before the disconnection occurred. Or I restarted that save. It's been awhile. But it was frustrating and I still have no clue as to why it happened. I hope you can get it all sorted out.

I'm generally displeased how the family trees work, but think having three parents in the situation described kinda makes sense? I don't think playing with genetics should mess it up though. Have you thought of trying the plumtree app to make your own family tree? I hesitated for a long while but when I did, it was a good experience.

I just tried again this time via add sim in CAS and the same thing happened to my sim self's mother's side of the family tree after changing the relationships in CAS.

Where do you find the family tree - which option is it?

@catmando830 - in the panel in the bottom right side, you click on the icon with the “mannequin head” where you can see your sim’s traits as well as likes and dislikes if you open it up (you can see it if you’re able to enhance the first image that Brd709 posted). Then you click the button with the three squares that look kind of like a counting tree right next to the line at the top where you can see the age progression of your sim and that’ll open up the family tree.

If my explanation wasn’t clear enough you can look here for further information: https://ea.com/en-au/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/ts4-genealogy

So i tried again today and created my uncle from the add sim button on the world home screen. I added my uncle to my mothers household and added the relationships via cas.fulleditmode and the tree didn't break that time. However, after altering my uncles appearance in CAS the tree broke again!
