They made it smaller, to distinguish it from the Aspiration associated trait.
What if it's for your sims' personal biography? Similar to what we had in TS2 & TS3?
It's possible that that's what the extra trait slot is for. But I don't see how that would work. Unless it opens a sub-window to allow the player to view their sim's personal biography. But I thought that we already have that in CAS when creating a sim's story anyways. I don't see them creating two slots for sim's story.
