Because that looks a lot like the orbs that sims get with different icons on them depending on the group/s they belong to, that sims get over their heads when they're involved in a group/participating in a group meeting...ETA: Oh. I saw this when my child would come home from school with an A. It is a sun and a rainbow. It sits above the child sims head and is really cute. I don't have a picture unfortunately. Yeah I do but I've had that orb only twice and I have club gatherings all the time. ?

It COULD possibly be the last remnant of the symbol that sims get when they're involved in a group meeting, and they do the activities particularly associated with that group (which you chose/decide). That earns points for the group itself to spend on group perks. Perhaps it's the last flash of that, which you caught in the picture itself?

no it's consistently an orb and only sometimes kinda drags into a rainbow shaped thing

maybe but again, I've had the lot traits for a long time and never had these orbs before. I think the club gathering vibe was set to focused, maybe something to do with that.
