- We have a LOT of down-to-Earth, slice-of-life content right now, but we're still pretty skimpy on magical/sci-fi elements. I'm still waiting on werewolves (which should have been RIGHT AFTER FRIKIN' VAMPIRES, mind you), and there are people waiting on fairies, genies, imaginary friends, mutants/superheroes, some better outer space content (I'd personally love a pack that allows me to upgrade my rocket into a starship that I can actually play inside and set up however I like--steampunk, "used future" , atom punk, bamboo technology, bio-ship, etc.), occults from somewhere other than Europe and the Middle East, and improved plant sims too.
Look, I get it, I like Stardew Valley and all, but I THINK that things like farming and theme parks and other more down-to-Earth things can hang back for a release or two to add some more supernatural and sci-fi stuff for those of us who enjoy it...Especially werewolves. That should be the NEXT FREAKING GP. PERIOD. I'm so tired of the mass media treating werewolves like crap... "SimsLovinLycan;c-17356077" wrote:

All we've had this year for game packs (which this poll was about) were sci-fi tho."CBook;c-17356435" wrote:

No. We had one sci-fi and one fantasy theme. However, we are still missing a LOT of more fantastical elements. Meanwhile, out of the entire line of GP's, EP's, and SP's, we have had 17 pure Slice-of-Life packs, 3 pure Fantasy/Sci-Fi packs, and 4 packs that are mainly Slice-of-Life with some mild Fantasy/Sci-Fi elements. So, yes, If we only get two GP's in 2020, I don't think it's unreasonable for at least ONE of them to have a sci-fi or fantasy theme, because supernatural play is SEVERELY neglected next to the normal slice-of-life stuff. What it's like for supernatural simmers right now is what it would feel like for slice-of-lifers if nearly every addition to the game since launch had been centered around magic, aliens, and mad science, while the only things added for more realistic daily life had been pools, Toddlers, pets, and dish washers. It's just as maddening as that.
There needs to be a better balance in the types of content available. Three GP's and a cameo presence in 4 packs is not enough supernatural content. It certainly wouldn't be for slice-of-life gameplay. What makes you think it's enough for supernatural players?"SimsLovinLycan;c-17356467" wrote:

I don't have a problem with Supernatural play, but it seems like 2019 was very extravagant, and bold, with StrangerVille, Moschino, Magic, University, so I want 2020 to be chill, with Farming, knitting is happening I guess (but I'd prefer Happy Haunts tbh), maybe roller coasters, salons, but I'd be fine with wearwolves (although I don't think they'd make a whole pack) or a space pack."CBook;c-17357629" wrote:

Honestly, I don't feel like 2019's offerings were all that extravagant. The thing that I could call the closest to extravagant is Strangerville, and that's only because of the lightly-scripted quest. Everything else just feels like a normal release. In fact, the default magic HQ in ROM is a pretty meh set, and there is very limited interactivity with the world itself (the overall world design is cool to look at, but when you break it down, it's just one rather plain magic school, a few stalls for buying stuff, a dueling arena, no residential lots, and a greenhouse with nothing to interact with inside...kind of boring to hang out there or explore after a few visits unless you're in full RP mode with your sim ditching high school every day to study with the sages...). IL, pretty generic tropical paradise to play about in. University, not all that extravagant when you realize that in TS2, the expansion came with 3 pre-built schools AND the ability to make your own. Moschino...not that impressive unless you're really into photography and wanted to see the skill expanded further.
All in all, I feel like TS4 has actually been really light on really exciting pack releases. Then again, I guess I may be biased, since I grew up in the city, so living in the city isn't all that exciting; my own experience with college has killed my ability to buy into the mass media's romanticized version of it; growing up in a state where I had easy access to the beach means most of my association with beach-side recreation is sand in and on everything, greedy seagulls trying to eat your funnel cake, and that one terrifyingly gross stall I saw in a bathroom at the beach (really, for those of you who have never been to the ocean...it's highly overrated); and hearing too many stories of people who got famous and ended up either dead or in rehab and massive amounts of YouTuber downfall drama has taken all of the glitter off of stardom for me.- All of them! Egyptian theme would be pretty neat but could resemble jungle adventure and it’s artifact gameplay. Something new always gives a game more life, but I feel with all the articles about the mysterious expansion containing the quotes about twist and turns I’m thinking it could be a hint for amusement park which would be sweet or just simple marketing talk to get people involved and excited. Business and career we need firemen back and burglary it just plays into what we already have. Set them up with the career and have them actually be visibly performing acts randomly at households. Occult’s always welcomed.
- It would be cool if we got a royalty pack. Ball gowns for the whole family, soldier uniforms, suits with medals and sashes on them, crowns and tiaras. I’m thinking have one royal family and one lot for a whole castle and you can kind of work your way up a social standing to get close with the royal family through aristocracy and stuff, and the only way to live in the castle is to marry in. Tutors can be hired for the kids, NPC’s live and work in the castle, royal interactions like “gush about royal couple/baby/wedding/family” stuff, handle random political issues and it changes your approval rating with the people (the less happy they are the more they riot outside the castle), stuff like that. We could add thrones and turrets and royal flags and towers, spiral staircases, it would be really cool for a game pack or even an expansion pack

We definitely need more occult life-states. I love playing as ordinary, everyday sims. But I need to occults to spice up the world! (and hopefully not take over it...I'm looking at you Spellcasters...)
Im thinking about getting RoM next... what do you mean with spellcasters taking over the world? I wish that i could also have regular households without anything supernatural... - I really want werewolves. I don't really miss zombies, they were so annoying in sims 3. The other options would be cool too.
