I actually dislike kits in all the ways listed, but their price for the amount of content is a particular rub for me.
EA said kits wouldn't get in the way of the creation of other packs. But the sheer number being pushed out at high speed tells me that they would very much like to use them in place of Stuff Packs because they're so easy to make. No gameplay required, just glorified CC. Effectively themed bundles from the Sims Store.
