When did the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration change?

It had to have been shortly after the release date. I don't ever recall having to view 30 pieces of art, just view or admire 3.

@Arzekial that's what I figured too, since I started playing Sims 4 a few months or so after release & they weren't there.

That's crazy. I don't think all the museums together have that many paintings :D

Definitely remember doing this aspiration when TS4 was brand new. I actually had fun with it and I think it made sense it was so time consuming. I mean, yeah, it gets kinda grindy, but it made being a painter more of a lifestyle rather than a quick check-box to tick off as you finish all aspirations quickly. My sim had to paint A LOT before she finished it and it did feel more like a milestone than it does now.

I definitely remember that. My very first sim had that aspiration and it took an eternity for her to get writers block. I basically had to lock her in a room to just write, write, write and then hope she'd finally get that moodlet before she had a bladder failure, passed out from exhaustion or became too uncomfortable from being hungry.

I've done this aspiration countless times and I do vaguely recall this. But it must have been changed early on.
I do think we at one point got a patch that made a number of aspiration requirements easier/less repetitive.

Yeah it is. I knew Sims 4 had changed a lot since it released, but didn't realize it went as far as changing aspiration goals. It's been 10 1/2 years already?

And now I'm wondering what other aspirations have changed LOL.

They made the aspirations easier in the same patch that also brought the dirt overlay for sims with low hygiene. I remember this because I was playing a household of sims in the Collector aspiration. After the patch they had all advanced a full tier due to some previous requirements no longer being required. A quick look into my screenshots folder says that was in December 2014 already :o

Get rid of objectives that were too specific or repetitive

I don't ever remember seeing that, but I do remember the mischief one being changed. I think it was Public Enemy. It was something like your sim had to do something mean while in an angry mood but doing mean things gives evil/mean sims a happy buff so it was almost impossible to complete. Or it was something along those lines. I remember that and it was some years ago. I wasn't playing TS4 regularly back then so it's possible that's when the painting one got nerfed too.
