Where do you take sims for dating or family activities to become closer?

I usually only take the whole family to places with stuff for kids to do, like parks, beaches, pools and bowling alleys. Very few of the public lots in my game are still the original, and one thing I've changed is that most parks and beaches have at least some of the toddler play equipment from the toddler stuff pack and some of the pet stuff from Cats and Dogs, so they're really for the whole family.

For dates I usually go with restaurants, sometimes bars, nightclubs and karaoke lounges.
