The political career isn't all what profitable concerning money. When you max the career you'll be making about 2,000 a day and you only work 3 days out of the week. The political branch you'll only be making a little more by maybe 2300 simoleons. Just a 300 difference from being a charity organizer.
I believe speaking on the podium gives you +fame. When you start getting closer to gaining a star your son will get a chance card to raise their fame and get their star. Perks are just gonna be your friend in being able to earn more fame with socializing and more.
