Why are they called "worlds", and not "towns"?

Admittedly, it made a little more sense there since you couldn't really travel to different towns/cities, whereas in this game the only barrier between a Willow Creek Sim and a day at the beach in Sulani is whether or not you have Island Living.

Yeah but even in Sims 3, I still felt like it should've been called towns/cities. But it is true about not being able to travel.
