Why is the welcome wagon so creepy!

Welcome to the neighbourhood! I'll just take this ratty fruit cake I brought you and go and eat it sitting on your sleeping toddler son's bed... even though you've also gone to bed... It won't let me cancel the event so she won't flipping leave!

  • It is annoying when they do things like that. It’s not just limited to the welcome wagon though. My sims adopted a dog and the sim doing the pet evaluation immediately went for a shower and then went to bed!

Visiting sims don’t seem to behave like visiting sims previously, visitors feel free to use your shower, help themselves to what’s in the fridge, use the computer and they are all obsessed with taking out the garbage!
  • The stupid thing is, if my sim did that at another lot when visiting they'd probably ask her to leave. The fruit cake was in the flipping fridge! I didn't think to ask them to leave separately, thankfully it's timed out now and they've left, not until they ate all her leftovers and left plates of half eaten blackened bass everywhere though.

edit - on the plus side Brandi's eldest, Dustin, visited and fixed the sink whilst he was over!
  • I don’t like the welcome wagon most times. If you decided to leave your neighbors standing outside your door then you end up having sour relationships with those neighbors. Like “hey I didn’t ask you to come over while I was showering and bring me gross fruitcake.”
  • How does one get the fruitcake? I’ve had plenty of welcome wagons and noones given my sim one. I don’t like that they always have to appear when you move in a new sim, I don’t open the door because they’re literally the welcome wagon and quickly make their way to use my sims computer or tv :# I started to just not let them in and cancel the event and then I get a decrease in their relationship, which is fine by me. I don’t want my sim in a forced friendship

    It’s a gourmet cooking recipe.
  • You should read this thread, basically we discussed about more or less the same topic, I came up with a solution for the problem. It might help you: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/948300/welcome-wagon-why-fruitcake#latest
