You don't need a fridge. You can live on fresh food from the garden, raw recipes like salads, stuff from the cooler, anything cooked on a grill or in a campfire... You just can't make most of the recipes/bake/keep leftovers.

meh this is the sims :D I just remember in previous games it would fill the hunger bar a little more.

A good alternative to the stove dilemma is to use the one mid-ranged stove that looks like a wood burning stove. There's also the fridge that looks like a fancy icebox fridge but that one does run on electricity but it gives off that olden days vibe looks wise at least. I really miss the chamber pot toilet from Sims 3 though hopefully we'll get something similar for 4 at some point.

Im ok with mods, but I'm clueless about how to install them in Sims 4, @Simasaurus09

Interesting fact is some writers still use "outdated" methods when writing. Notebooks, typewriters, and George R. R. Martin writes on an old DOS machine running Wordstar 4.0.

Maybe my sims are eating all the wrong vegetables and fruits but they hardly fill hunger. I did have a sim live off of a campfire and that worked out fine. Her backyard was the kitchen.

Actually, I don't think you can make salads. You need a fridge and counter for those (I was thinking of with no stove). But grilled/roasted stuff works. As to raw fruit and veg, its pretty realistic. A piece of fruit is just a snack.
