I think majority are disappointed because Star Wars don't tend to relate to a "Life Simulation" genre.
Let me tell you about my life ... ?

I'm the Biker Scout trooper! Part of a costuming group that does charity events and things.
So yeah, it relates.
Your life isn't a game.... But good on you on for the charity events and all that ❤️
That's true, my life isn't a game. But Star Wars is a pretty big part of my life. I've been a long time fan. When I broke my leg in 2015, if it hadn't been for me playing Knights of the Old Republic on a near 24/7 basis and watching The Clone Wars on Netflix, I probably would have gone insane. I was Darth Revan that year for Halloween; which was a huge motivation to get me back on my feet and moving forward after my accident. It even got me pretty motivated to go back to school and finish my degree, and the last class I took at university was a Star Wars film studies class that really meant a lot to me.
So I'm pretty chuffed about a Star Wars game pack and what it means for my enjoyment of game play, although I recognize it's not for everyone.- FlyingPotato6595 years agoSeasoned Ace

Thanks! I'm going to make my 501st family as simselves and take them all to Batuu. It's been really hard not seeing them all, because they're a great group of folks and mean a lot to me with what we do, and chatting with them on Zoom is fun and all, but it's not the good times we've had. It's not real life of course, but it's what I got right now. Just keepin' positive till we can all troop again.- DeKaythePUNK5 years agoLegendGood.
- Leydi_Tee5 years agoSeasoned VanguardDon't care. I think they deserve this hate. I'm plenty disappointed. I've had my opportunities to play Star Wars as a franchise. I'd reach for those games if I wanted to play Star Wars or anything related.

Look, with any cult classic or fan favorite, you're going to get some nerds really, really excited and the rest of the population is going to be alienated. I would be over the moon if the Sims 4 worked with Middle Earth Enterprises to bring the elves, dwarves, and halflings into the game, but guess how many people would hate it? Lots.
I don't like Star Wars. I never have. The first movie, which was the best IMO, was still underwhelming for me. I've never understood the attraction at all. But there's a lot of people who adore it. So either way, the Sims team had better be ready for a lot of people who are disappointed because it isn't their cup of tea, and then the die-hard fans who are going to love it. Fandoms are divisive. They always have been.
So, I'll go back to playing other games. Sometime next year, I'll pop in and see if the Sims team has done anything noteworthy. There are other life simulations currently in development that are starting to look more promising anyways. "Chazzzy;c-17630930" wrote:

I feel like I’m witnessing history. I wonder if the team will comment.
I doubt it, eco had a lot of dislikes and the whole fiasco with the 20th anniversary and they were both completely ignored.- The one thing that makes me kind of mad (and I could be totally wrong) is that it looks like they invested way more money into this pack than others. That's just so unfair. Like did Disney throw money at them? Did EA think that because it would maybe pull in Star Wars fans into the Sims that they were willing to spend more money? It really frustrates and upsets me. The CAS items alone had to cost way more money than normal.
- LiELF5 years agoLegendMeh. It doesn't represent the silent majority. I'd be interested in seeing how it does in sales, but we'll probably never know because maxis doesn't share that info.
