[1.118] Inventories, fridges, bookshelves all empty on loading household

After the Sept 18 update, all the books in my bookcases disappeared. Also, the homework books keep disappearing and students have to buy a new one each day.

All of my Sims inventory is deleted except for upgraded parts there knitting kit , cross stitch kit and food is disappearing from the refrigerator as well on all saved files. It started with the new update today. I am playing on PC and the only mod I have is MCCC. I removed the mod but it is still happening.

I’m not experiencing any problems.

I opened my game without mods by moving the Mods folder to the desktop. Then I loaded the save file that I normally play with mods, which are currently outside the game as I mentioned earlier. All of the items remain in the inventory of my six Sims, and each of them has a large number of items. The items inside the refrigerator also stayed there without disappearing. Everything remained intact when I traveled to another residential lot or a community lot. I tested again with another Sim who lives in a different household, and after traveling to another lot, her inventory was also intact. Nothing was lost. I usually play in DirectX 9, but I also tested the game in DirectX 11.

I also ran a test with a brand-new The Sims 4 folder. Starting completely fresh, I placed two items in my Sim’s inventory, an easel and a ball. After traveling to another lot, the items remained in the inventory without any issues.

All the harvestables, books etc. disappeared from my Sim's inventory also. The way I managed to get them back was by following all the steps crinrict listed, moving over my original save from the old folder (as well as all my mods and Tray files), and then recovering my save to a point from before the update. (I tried recovering my save before, but without creating the new game folder first; it didn't work then.)

Items are now staying even after traveling too.

Upvoting as a console player, I do not want this to happen to my households in 5 days and counting! 💔

I've been testing this for over an hour now and here's all that I did and found. 

I'm on a Windows 11 gaming PC. 

First I opened my game with mods turned on and MCC updated through the CurseForge app. My photos were black and my inventory was missing many items. I don't remember all I had, but I know I had High School homework, a school project, a camera, a digital sketchpad, and paintings. The only items left in their inventories was upgrade parts, graves, and fairy dust. I then took a few selfies, put one on the wall and left the other 4 in my inventory, then saved and exited the game. When it booted back up the new wall selfie was black and the ones in the inventory were gone. I opened another old save and they had the same inventory and photo issues. I closed this save without saving. 

Then I moved my mods to an outside folder and created a new mod-less save. Did the selfie thing again and rebooted the game. This time they were all still there. I figured it must be MCC even though I already updated it through CurseForge. So I deleted MCC all together and redownloaded it from the MCC website. Added only that mod to my folder and opened the game. My selfies and inventory were all fine. I figured it was a different mod, so I added the rest of my old mods in chucks, not redownloading them, just moving them back in. Every time the photos and inventory were fine. I now have all my mods back and have been playing about a full sim day and have had no new issues even when traveling to other lots and high school, unfortunately I'd already saved before realizing my stuff was gone, so I didn't get it back, but that old save file I tested and exited without saving had it's stuff back now. 

I know that's a lot of text and it's super weird how it just works now, but I figured more info would be better than less. So I'm giving you all the info I have. 

Also having this issue since the base game update this afternoon. My Sim's inventory totally emptied out, including her university posterboard, meaning she won't be able to complete the semester. All of the bookshelves in her dorm are empty as well. I purchased new belongings (a university homework book, a soccer ball, headphones), and they all disappeared when I saved, went to manage worlds, and then came back to my household. So that's a bunch of Simoleons wasted as well. 

Seems like lots of other people are having this bug as well. I won't play until it's resolved.

Yes, Deaderpool posted on discord announcements that MCCC is only updated on the website, Curseforge takes a few days to update and it is not updated yet so the announcement said to use the website if you want to manually download the new version. So that was likely still the old version of MCCC you initially had if it was from Curseforge. 

Having the same issue on my end. 

• Playing on PC
• No mods
• Disappeared when I loaded into my save after the update. 
• All household inventory items vanished.
  • Sims inventory (6 sims living on lot)
  • Pet Toy Box
  • Toy Box
  • Bookcases

Loaded my modded legacy save after the patch and noticed at least 10 artifacts from jungle adventure were missing from inventory and many other items some sims preserved more items than others, I am currently collection hunting and knew my sims inventory was very full so I am very distraught everything is gone. I closed game and even repaired it to the same result, I have not yet tried running with no mods as to not destroy my house and outfits.
