Does some CC need the game to be patched?

I downloaded some CC from The Sims Resource recently and one particular item is not showing in my game even though it's in my mods folder.
I've avoided the last patch for now, so was wondering if that could be the reason.
The creator has included the mesh and it's base game compatible.
  • Base game compatible CC does not require you to update in oder to use the item. You said it is a specific item, can you provide a link or the item name & creator and I'll see if I can troubleshoot.

The creator is Pizazz and the item is dress N 209

    Thank you.

I downloaded the file and much like when you take your car to the auto mechanic "It didn't make that noise for me." (i.e. it worked fine) But, that doesn't mean you aren't having a problem. I suggest you delete the file and download it again. If it still isn't working then try resetting your Mods folder and maybe repairing your game.

    To reset your Mods Folder:
    1. Cut and paste just the Mods Folder to your desktop
    2. Open and close your game, a new Mods folder will be created as well as a new resource.cfg file
    3. Cut and paste your Mods folder back to your Sims 4 Folder. It should ask you if you want to replace the resource.cfg file. Say no. (A Mods folder will still show on your desktop because it contains the old resource.cfg file that we just replaced. You can delete that.)
    4. Check and see if the dress is there now.

If it still isn't showing, try repairing the game. Go to My Game Library and right-click your Sims 4 game. You should see the option to repair game. You do not need to update the game for the repair to work.

If that doesn't work, you may want to ask for help on the MCCC Discord. Even if you don't have MCCC in your game, they are gangbusters at problem-solving. This is their link for general support: https://discord.com/invite/WhhjZSp
