Game breaking bug help

I have this issue in my game where I can still see and use the UI to some extent but I can't do anything. I am not able to save or exit the world and sometimes the game goes black but the Sims are still doing stuff. Please help tried sending it on twitter and tagged gurus but no one responded

    If it's happening when the cheat command line is opening, click in the command line and hit Escape.

    If not, have you tested with no mods or CC installed? That sounds like an out-of-date mod. You might start here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/962954/broken-updated-mods-cc-july-19-cas-stories-patch#latest (There's a link there to the larger June thread as well)
