Mod issues
Hi all! I recently converted my sims 4 game and all mods/cc to an external hard drive to relieve some of the stress on the mac that I play on. I’ve been having issues with the way my game is re...
@matteafn Have you only moved the Mods folder to the external drive, or the entire Sims 4 folder? Let me know where the symlink is and what it's supposed to link to, as in, folder names and file paths. Please also post the full file path the game is reading, as described in the link I posted last time.
I've moved my entire sims 4 and ea folder. The sym link I had created was for my electronic arts folder using bluebellflora's instructions in this post.
/Users/matteafarfan-narcisse/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Screenshots/ - this is the file path my game is reading per the instructions of your last post. Thanks again in advance!
@matteafn If you open Documents, , do you see the symlink or the actual Electronic Arts folder? A symlink will have a little arrow on its icon that a folder does not. Please also make sure you're looking at the correct folder and not the one in iCloud Drive. You can access the local folder by clicking Macintosh HD (or whatever you've renamed your hard disk) in the left panel of a Finder window, then selecting Users > your username > Documents. If you don't see Macintosh HD, click Finder in the upper-left corner of the screen, then Preferences > Sidebar, and check the box next to hard disks.
@matteafn Please open a Finder window, click cmd-shift-G, and enter this:
~/Documents
Let me know what shows up, if anything. If you do see a Documents folder, right-click it and select Get Info, then find and post the file path under Where.
Please also look for your symlink inside.
