I've the same problem. I waited for the pop up for the gig to start.

I used UI cheats to check the task off, and the rest of the gig went smoothly. Except for taking the after pictures. I had to use UI cheats for that one too.

My sim has no photography skill.

Thanks so much for mentioning UI cheats! I’m having the same problem and that fixed it.
