[MOD RELATED] [DHD] Before & After Photo task doesn't tick

I was having the same problem, but a quick check with my mods revealed that the mod "simvasion_photo_auratoggle" (by Simvasion, naturally) had the same effect on the before/after photos task not triggering. Try removing that mod if you're having the same problem.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? In the Interior Decorator career, start a gig and attempt to take before/after photos
What happens when the bug occurs? Taking photos -- both before and after making changes in build mode -- does not check off the 'take before photos' or 'take after photos' tasks, and because of this you can't finish the gig.
What do you expect to see? Taking photos to check off the required tasks
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes

I've taken DOZENS of pictures, both through the phone menu, the sim menu, and clicking on the floor in the room, and the objective won't check off.

I took maybe 15 'before' photos, and the list said 1/3, and then I took about 20 more, and nothing.

I took probably 30 'after' photos, and the list still says 0/3.

This is INCREDIBLY frustrating, cause I LOVE this career concept, but if this bug doesn't get fixed, it's utterly unplayable since you can't call the client back till the photos are taken.

Had the same issue too, and tried removing a mod (to be specific, I removed Lilmssam's Random Small Mods), loaded my game back up, took before and after photos with my interior design career sim and it worked.

is anyone still experiencing this problem? I deleted all LittleMissSam mods from my mod folder and am still encountering the issue with the before & after photos. I disabled mods for a test and was able to successfully complete the task -- so I am confident the issue is with a mod. The problem is I do not know which one. I saw people suggest UI cheats but I would rather not download another mod to fix a problem being caused by mods. I also really don't want to delete or disable mods from my game, I love them so much lol. My mods folder is an absolute enormous disorganized monster because I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to modding; I just kind of download stuff randomly. At this point I would literally be willing to pay someone to look through my mods folder and tell me what to do to resolve this. SOS!!! (Save Our Sims!!!!)

And while your setup may work for you in general, you're setting yourself up for serious issues if you don't know what's in your Mods folder.  Imagine having two copies of a mod that breaks, and you find one and remove it but have no idea that there's a second one somewhere else.  So you'll save yourself a huge headache, or maybe more than one, if you get things sorted.  Now is as good a time as any.

Just wanted to pop in to say I had the same issue. I took tons of before and after photos but the tasks never ticked. Finally I searched, found this thread, and removed LittleMsSam's photos in storage mod. I went right back in to the same save game, took more photos, and the task ticked as it should.
