New Indoor Lighting System and CC Doors.

Now that the lighting system has been updated, do CC doors that feature glass panels or open areas need to be updated in some way to correctly make use of the new indoor lighting?
I ask because I have made two CC doors myself, one that features glass panels and one that is designed to look like a toilet stall door and so has a gap above and below the door panels, that do not correctly allow light into rooms when placed on external walls.

In the picture below, the first image shows my CC glass door being held by the hand tool and it correctly allows light through. Once the door is released from the hand tool though, as in the second image, the light no longer shines through. If I place an EA door (arches or windows work to) that features glass or gaps on an external wall in the same room then both doors now allow light through correctly.

I can only assume that my CC versions are missing a resource or setting in their code to make this function correctly and would love to know what I need to do to get them working as EA doors do.

  • It doesn't sound as if logically that would show the results depicted above, where adding an original EA door to the room would make both of them show lightcast properly? I'd have expected one door to "work" and the other one to continue to not "work", though I am prepared to be surprised! :D
  • Wow! What a quick and simple fix once I figured out where to find and edit the relevant info in Sims4Studio.
It really was just as simple as ticking a checkbox next to the "No Opaque" flag. The doors now allow light to cast through them once the hand tool lets go of them and when there are no EA doors, windows or otherwise in the same room.
  • Alistu can you think of any logical reason why the presence of an EA door in the room can correct for the absence of the "no opaque" flag on a cc door?
  • Hi Inge, it's because the lighting code checks to see if a room contains a window, archway or object flagged a no opaque. As soon as any one of those types of objects exists then this particular lighting is applied to that room.
  • Oh... I am a bit taken aback by the reason! Thanks for explaining it though :D
