No cas ui - no sims name - no household members - no traits panel
So this has been an issue for maybe a few weeks but I have over 13000+ mods so I try to avoid having to sort or go through them all.
The issue is when I go into cas all ui's are gone there is no name, I cant see other household members, can't see traits, or clothing options, essentially all there is, is the sim but I also couldn't exit out of cas (buttons weren't there) or open to settings menu.
This was starting to get really annoying, I had tried to fix it, disabled all of my mods and the issue was fixed so I knew it was a mod issue. Better exceptions opens every time I open cas and said it was a broken trait mod but failed to identify any trait mods (I know I do have them), so I disabled all trait mods and cas mods I could think of but it didn't help.
So I resulted to playing without cas for a while despite being a heavy cas player. Yesterday I did something like the 50/50 method, took all my mods and subfolders and put them into a folder called 'taking out' but instead taking half of my mods out and testing them I took all my files out by alphabet like all the 'a' files putting just them into my game and testing it, then if it worked put them into a 'safe' folder.
I continued this for all of my mods and none of them had an issue, cas was normal and working, which I thought was strange, I went through every file and yet didn't find one that caused the issue which made me believe it might have been a conflicting mod issue however once putting all mods back into the game, cas worked.
Weird but I didn't question it, my problem had been fixed, gave my sims some new outfits and played for a while. I opened cas again this morning and the issue is back, as far as I can remember this is the same session, I just paused when I went to bed last night, haven't added any mods so I'm really confused does anyone know what is causing this issue?
Update, turns out it is only happening in some households, I'm trying to identify a common factor in the households it's happening to but its hard to when I can't access them.
lu3llaa 50-50 testing by alphabet can miss issues because mods that require each other get separated: they must be kept in together.
Since it works with mods disabled, start at the pinned Broken and Updated Mods and CC topic for the current patch. Leave in the Mods folder only mods that are updated or cleared for the current patch. And make sure to have disconnected any syncing software (OneDrive, iCloud, etc.) from Sims as they can mess with your files!
Then do a "Save As" on your problem save and play for a while, then again the next day. If it's still working, you can add mods (not CC yet) that aren't listed as Previously Broken mods and CC AND aren't covered in Broken and Updated Mods and CC . Make sure you have the most recent version of each and any mods they require.
If you can keep that working, it's time to add CC in batches.
