Placing Lots

I have built a pool and saved it to my library, I have saved other outdoor lots and a few rooms also from the gallery when I go to place them there is no option to buy them and I click to place them every thing disappears. No green or red shapes nothing just like I never tried to place them . They show up in the saved folder and that is about it. Can any one help me with this? Not sure what might be causing it?
