<final report>
waiting on all 3 people to appear - works fine
couldn't find out if talking to first jang member causes it to get blocked, (as it appear that as long as someone knocks on the door, doesn't metter who) the invite option appears.
it appears that as long as the the knock knock animation plays it doesn't matter whom you click onto the invite in opinion will appear.
so i would hazard a guess and say the option gets prevented if you talk to them before they ring knock on the door (presuming at that point they would switch from a
"oh i'd like to say hi and come in"
to a
"oh i've talked to you in the hallway so i dont need to come in or be invited in what so ever, ill knock on next time, till then you can talk to me in the hallway"
path of events.
sorry for the spam xD, and once again thanks for the assistance. đ
---------- i'd just like to say sorry to anyone who is curious about this issue and came here to find out about to and be filled with despair when seeing my wall of text..... xD
when i attempt to do a bug test,,, i do it hard,,, my bug reports... however...... as ya'll can see.... need a lot of work :P đ
Yes, as I wrote in my previous reply doing any kind of introduction also count as a Invite in so that option will disappear.

@jpkarlsen
i hear ya, if that was the case i kinda find it weird that they wont come into my apartment they'd reather just stand in the hallway doing nothing.
thats why i presumed it might be a
oh ill say hi to you but i dont want to come in because i spoke to you in the hallway or a ill come in but i have to knock on your ...(3 times đ if you get the ref) before ill come in XD
ill have to do some more testing and try to say hi to the first group visitor before the 2nd one appears
which as of this moment isn't an way task...
i know it works if the same floor neighbour knocks on,
i know it'll work for the first group visitor, if nextdoor knocks on first,
i know it'll work after the for the group after the 2nd group visitor as knocked,
what i need to try catch is speaking to first group visitor before next door or the 2nd visitor appears
(because thats when it would appear to trigger and they wont come in nore allow me to invite them in after speaking to lift visitor 1)Right, after ...27?...28th reloads trying to catch the first lift bound visitor,,, i can confidently say ive locked it down to what time they start making an apperance and when the invite in doesn't appear, and the npcs turn mindless... (for leak of better words)
did both the following and tested both to see if there is a different outcome :-1. preventing salim from knocking on my door by using debug reset object everytime he moved (not reseting him would allow him to continue onwards to knocking on my door, to which the invite neighbour(s) would work perfectly fine.
2. some how be lucky enough that lift visitor 1 (i use the term lift visitor 1 because its easier then switching between baako then anaya or anaya then baako) gets to what i shell now call "its waiting spot" then walking to him.
---------------------------------------------
upon managing to catch lift-visitor 1 and talking to them before salim knocks on or appears causes the following effects
* cancels out lift visitor 2 from making an appearance and then turning both salim and lift 1 into mindless hushs
(both will not move, or speak to each other, unless my sims start a interaction with them, upon finishing interaction they will return to standing around doing and sayying nothing.
* speaking to them and then selecting the sit here and chat option would leads to my sim(s) going to said location, and npc sims waving their arms to indicate path blocked
------------------------------------
Actions that do work are as followed :-
most of the "on the spot interactions" like asking about their day and such, send home.
Actions that dont lead to anything are as followed :-
most if not all "movement based interactions" like call over here, sit here and chat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unless maxis managed to find out the trigger thats causing this, im presuming the only work-around is to make a backup save for before any visitors appear / knock on your door,
figure out just how many visitors will be making an appearance then wait for one of them to start knocking on your door,
if i remember rightly its fine if a solo visitor knocks on you invite them in then the group knocks on and you invite them in.
as long as you dont break the "string of events" (i.e speaking to group visitor 1 before group visitor 2 or onwards appear) they shouldn't blue screen on you
<sighs>
and here comes another headache lol....
all this faffing around just to figure out whats causing one thing to bug out everything else lol...this should absolutely be my last time "reporting" and spamming your screens with this issue <cough> headache <cough>
as far as im hopefully aware... i've tested all the possible things i can think off that could trigger or not trigger this brain-fart to happen.
so now ill hopefully be able to leave all this mess of information to someone at maxis or a modder who could better figure out what the root cause is and maybe toss out a fix for it
<for some reason my last post was deleted, due to post flooding ? .... sorry about that âšī¸
i had wanted to also add that it would seem after finally testing
with both salim knocking at my door and inviting in, then baako and anaya appearing would automatically allow them in,
and testing after salim, baako and anaya appear then knocking on would work...... as long as you didn't interupt the npc with the "knock on door" task,,, then the visitors wouldnt bug out and stand there for hours doing nothing at all - RandomBuzziness4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Dave-1stReaper Oh wow that is some seriously intense testing! Those were all for Welcome Wagon events? I think after you get past that event that things should be simpler when it comes to apartment visitors. I never get regular visits from large groups of Sims-- it's always just one neighbor at a time. Sometimes I invite them in (if I like them), and sometimes I'll just ignore them (if I don't like them). Every now & then I'll get a Goofball Sim or a Vampire that just comes inside without even knocking. Another one that makes me laugh is when a fitness nut knocks on the door and says something like "I am here to pump <clap> you up!" (or something like that). I wouldn't even let her in except that she's a friend and my Sim doesn't want to hurt her feelings (she is Adalynn Lovett from the Fitness Stuff pack/ The Ascenders household in the Gallery). So my lazy Sim just sits there eating her breakfast while Adalynn does a million sit-ups. Another Sim, Miko Ojo, always knocks on my Sim's door (different apartment) and says she is bored. So I let her in and then she goes around and cleans up the apartment-- this is what she does for fun when she is bored?!? My Sim doesn't even have to hire a maid! I'm happy because my Sim has a cat and she HATES cleaning the litter box xD Yup, San Myshuno is a very interesting place xD

Yes, like I also said if they are greeted outside they will stand there chatting for a while. If more join in the chatting the period before they decide to do something else will be prolonged. If you cancel the chatting and go in those that you have made an introduction to will eventually follow Any that you have not done an introduction to can't enter. Invite neighbor's in will allow all that are part of the welcome wagon to enter even if you have not yet done an introduction.
I hope this clears up your issues.

@RandomBuzzinesslmao
,,,Miko is more then welcome to make herself real and come around and give me a hand cleaning up if she finds it fun <3
once i finally get around to re-starting a new game and actually playing it,,, ill go forward and see if i can FINALLY keep it going (ideally bug free) XD
<edit>
oppps, yes all that testing was leading up to, during and after the "welcome wagon" stage of moving in lol
(and what can i say :P i go hard or go home when i put my mind to doing something lol) - 4 years ago@jpkarlsen no i mean,
if you talk to lift visitor 1 before lift visitor 2 appers and knocks on your door, it... for leak of a better idea what it does.. it "turns off the AI" for them,, they'll just stand there doing nothing... not chatting to anyone, or moving.
(as long as ANYONE knocks on my door, the game/sims will work like they were intended to)
as stated before, sims that i've made an introdution to myself, before they knock on the door, wont come in (i've speed up time for a whole day)
if i interupt the door knocking process they'll bug out and stand there doing nothing (tested the whole day)
havn't tested what they do if they dont knock on my door at all,,, (mainly due to how much time i've spent restarting saves to test out the "welcome wagon" stage)
i suppose at some point i should test what happens and see if the issue still effects visitors x amount of days after the welcome wagon stage finishes
(by the welcome wagon stage, i mean pretty much first the few hours of moving in, while the buff is active in the top corner, and few hours after its finished)
im presuming they'll talk to people outside in the hallway,, if they were going to do that anyway, - jpkarlsen4 years agoHero (Retired)
Yes, with the welcome wagon if the first one there is not the one designated to make the knock on door he/she will wait for the other sim that have that role.
If they just stand there not chatting do you have an option to make an introduction.?

@Dave-1stReaper My current Sim lives in the ZenView apartments. It's one of the more affordable apartments that has a balcony. Miko and the others in the Karaoke Legends household are my Sim's neighbors. Miko visits my Sim at least one time every day, mostly because she is bored or hears music playing. Darling will sometimes knock on the door when she smells something good cooking. Akira mostly just pounds on the door when he thinks my Sim is being too noisy. Neither Darling or Akira ask to come in nearly as often as Miko. I think the higher you build friendships with them, the more often they'll want to visit. I've noticed this same thing with other Sim's I've played in other apartments. If you want to get lot of time with Miko (she is gorgeous!) then ZenView is the place you want to be. My Sim loves having that balcony space & I love the view.
Oh btw- I wish to say that I admire your tenacity in testing these things, so I wasn't being critical at all in my previous post-- I just hope that you are able to relax a bit more and enjoy playing San Myshuno when your testing is complete. It's a very unique place in the Sims 4 universe.
- 4 years ago@jpkarlsen,
i know with the welcome wagon (....to make it easier lets just call it the first day of moving in from now on)
i know that during the first day only 3 people will come to welcome me to the area, it will always be the same 3 (unless i move out salim and put someone else in)
if 2 of 3 visitors come to the door, but not the one who is tasked with knocking on, and i interact with any of the 2, the 3rd(door knocker doesn't appear,,, and i've waited 2 days for them to appear)
upon interupting the string of events the lead to door knocker knocking on the door, the sims that are already there waiting on door knocker will stay in place, not interacting with anyone or anything (automatically,,, for example salim and baako or anaya are close enough to look at and talk to each other, but due to the interuption, they wont do anything to each other)
if my controlled sims are tasked with interacting with them by me or automatically,,, the npcs will react to me, but they wont move from that spot - 4 years ago
@RandomBuzzinessah cool, ill consider switching to zenview sometime when i get around to not keep starting new games every 30 mins lol...
and LMFAO just picturing that in my mind makes me laugh
miko standing againest to wall waiting till she can hear music before she knocks on.... what happens if you 1.dont have music on, or 2. feel like living in complete silence XD?
and the image of darling walking around every so often just sniffing the air xD OHH MY GODDDDDDD FOOOOD xD
------
also if one of them are miko... wasn't expecting that XD...
considering miko sounds of asian decent expected to see miko dressed like a shine maiden (the gurb with red hakama {pants}, and white kosode (top?/robe?)....that or i've played to many rpgs / watched to normal anime,,, that just so happens to have shrine maidens called miko lol
.....ohhh... theres an idea... with the dlc that adds the zen garden items,,, i need to find out of there options for shine maiden gurb đ
thanks for the idea Buzz
:P oh i know ya wasn't being critical đ, as for relexing a bit.... mmmm prob not lmao ill most likely come across something else to torment me lol...as stupid and wierd as it sounds... i think i have more fun finding, installing and testing stuff over playing the actual game itself
(prime example of this was... spending 6 months getting and testing 237 mods for skyrim to have the perfect playstyle for how i like to play ...only to not play skyrim since lol....) - RandomBuzziness4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Dave-1stReaper I edited Miko's cold-weather outfit that she's wearing in that pic. I didn't much change her appearance other than that. She has light purple hair by default. Yeah, Miko does sound Asian, but "ojo" is Spanish for "eyes", so I'm not really sure what EA Maxis was going for with her? Probably just a pretty city-girl Sim with a cool name. I usually make up backstories for my Sims & I think there are plenty of possible backstories that would work very well for Miko & explain how she got her name. This is the Maxis default version of Miko in her everyday outfit.
I use mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4, but those are a lot trickier than in Sims 4, so I only use a few. I'd have to look; I think it's probably less than 10 mods in each game. I use about 2 GB of mods and CC for Sims 4 and I know people that have as much as 40 GB!

@RandomBuzzinessXD
i used the be one of thoses lol before i got all the dlc
now ive only got a handfull of cloth and sim dlc the rest are tweaks like,
immersive vampires, mccc, tool, in home services for a workfrom home daycare/pet care theres a house near the apartment i use thats got a fairly large groundfloor area, and few rooms upstairs.... im thinking i might "work the daily 9-5" to up my skills and make a bit of money,,, then buy it re-vamp it so that the daycare area is downstairs, and my actual home is upstairs offlimits đ
i believe its <edit> not even close...
next neighbourhood over
The Old Salt House
i realllly like the open floor plan on that lot :D
would make a live in gym/daycare/petcare or (bar if its do-able?) a nice idea :D
...just so long as i no longer encounter any more bugs, and stick to one game XD
