Sim is ‘engaged’ but not in relationship/cant propose

Question

I’ve been playing this love triangle for awhile between two high school sweethearts and a new girl. He cheats, they break up, original gf goes to university. Last week she gets a phone call from him asking if he should propose to the other woman. I click yes absentmindedly. Now, I want to get the original couple back together but his actions are saying he’s engaged. He can’t propose, he has all the my wedding stories prompts about his engagement - but here’s the thing - he’s not even in a relationship with the new girl. They’re not dating. No engagement in their sim profile. No option to elope. Or plan a wedding event. But he can’t propose and it says he can’t because he’s already engaged.

I’ve tried resetting the sims, using the cheat to clear their relationship, I even tried deleting the new girl entirely (using new saves each time). He’s still engaged. Has anyone had this? Any way to fix it so he’s not ‘engaged’ to no one anymore??

@asbxlhbrlsrw&nbsp;Ok, just to make sure that I am understanding you.&nbsp; He can't get engaged to the girl in university because he was engaged via the phone call to the "other" girl.&nbsp; Are you saying that he can't get engaged to the "other" girl as well?&nbsp; The "other" girl is the one I meant for you to try building a relationship with, not the one in university.&nbsp; If the game is telling you he can't get engaged neither of the girls because he is already engaged, then there are still a couple of things you can try.You can move all 3 sims into a household together temporarily.&nbsp; Use the CAS.fulleditmode cheat.&nbsp; Go to CAS and see if you can change their relationship status so that they are all roommates.&nbsp; Go back to live mode and see if the get engaged option comes back.&nbsp; If it does, then you're good, if not, then there's something else you can do but it will wipe out every relationship he has.You can save him to your library and then delete the original and restore him to the game from your library.&nbsp; It's not the most ideal thing but it will clear all his relationships and then you can rebuild them.&nbsp;&nbsp;Hope this helps.

@asbxlhbrlsrw&nbsp;The way you fix that is build a romantic relationship with the sim that your sim is supposedly engaged to.&nbsp; Hopefully, you'll get the option to ask to be girlfriend/boyfriend.&nbsp; Then propose.&nbsp; After that, you have a choice to break them up.&nbsp; Use the friendly social to ask to be just friends or the mean social to breakup.&nbsp; Then the engaged status should clear itself.Hope this helps

Thank you! I tried this, he still can’t propose. It’s blocked out and says he’s already engaged. I’m so confused. May have to just accept defeat and this guy is alone forever lol.&nbsp;

Right now, it says he’s not engaged to&nbsp;either girl, but all the My Wedding Stories prompts still come up for him to talk about his engagement. But then he can’t propose to anyone, including the one he is supposedly engaged to. I’ll try that library option. Thank you!!&nbsp;

Did this work? &nbsp;My guy was convinced to leave his spouse and can’t propose to my sim because he’s still engaged. I tried having them break up then finally killed the woman. &nbsp;He’s still engaged. He has 2 kids so I guess I need to delete the whole family?
