sim won't lay down when sleeping/won't sit

My Sims will not lay down when sleeping, they will not walk to bed but the character profile in the bottom left will say they are asleep, and time will pass rapidly. Another issue is that they will not sit. When I click on a chair, it shows the command of sitting, but the sim will not go to the chair and sit, they will just stand.

I have tried:

Debugging sim

creating new save game

repairing game

removing all CC

moving save folder onto desktop and relaunching the game

moving entire Sims 4 folder onto desktop, repair game in origin, and relaunching game

i'm not sure what else i can do - any help would be appreciated.
