Sims 4 won't open in Mac

Hi! I've been playing The Sims 4 on my MacBook Air 2020 since April (with CC) and everything was great! But about 2 months ago the game stopped working. Now it cannot open. I've tried resetting origin, resetting the game, uninstalling the sims 4, uninstalling origin, moving my the sims 4 folder to desktop and every other way I could find online. I've came in realisation that I've downloaded a false mod. I don't know which one it is cuz just about 3 days ago I remove and re-added my mod to my mods folder. I really don't know what to do. Please help me.

So it's an issue caused by Mods. You need to not use the Mod(s) causing the issue until they are updated to the current patch level.

When you moved the Sims 4 folder to the desktop you should have then tried a brand new clean game, free of all previous saves, mods, settings etc. Did you do that? If so, did the game then work correctly?

yes it did, but when I moved my mods back in the mods folder it couldn't open again.

Then the issue is with one or more of your Mods. To test the CC/Mods, move out your Mods folder to the desktop and trash the localthumbcache.package file. Start the game to check it will load then quit without saving. Move your CC back in in batches, loading the game after each batch to see if it still works. When it stops working you know there is dodgy CC in that last batch. Move out that batch and test each piece one by one until your game stops working again. It's laborious but the only way to check all your CC.

well I tried doing that but when I tried to open the game it cannot open. it says "unable to start, origin is currently no running. please make sure that origin is running before attempting to play the sims 4" while having origin open. I really don't know what to do at this point..,

When did that happen, after moving out all the mods and trashing the localthumbcache file? Or after adding mods back in again?

so I tried testing my mods one by one but then what I said popped up on my screen

Thank you so much, I've been working on trying to get my game to work for days now. Then I finally tried this and it WORKED!! I'm so relieved.
