@graceymanors, if you haven't already, make sure nothing is blocking the dishwasher. Also, You can try to sell you dishwasher and replace with the same model (in case the current one is glitched). If the problem still persists, then you can try to have your Sims visit another lot (friend's house, library, gym, bar, park, etc) and then return.🙂 If you still have a problem you can move out your family and then move them back into the same house (this will fix a lot of problems!😇 ) And if you still have a problem, you can try to repair your game through Origin by going into Origin and clicking on "My Game Library" and then Right-clicking on The Sims 4 picture and choosing "Repair Game" in the list. (If you have expansions, you need to make sure it repairs those too, and not just the base game.)

None of the solutions fixed the issue, the only way I was able to fix it was by deleting the bathroom sink, if I don't have a sink the house they use it just fine, if I add a sink they refuse to use it, doesn't matter where the sink is, could be all the way upstairs.

Just to be on the safe side, the current version of the game should be 1.50.67.1020 To check your version, go to the Main Menu page (the same page you start from) and look at the bottom of the screen and it will tell you which version you have. This is just to make sure that your game is actually updated and not just Origin telling you that it is.
Other than that, it could be a routing issue of some sort, having to do with the counters, stove, and other kitchen stuff, but it also might be something else. 🤔 I will check with some others to see if anyone else might know what is going on! 🤨 …….
@graceymanors, I'm still waiting on feedback from some others, but I did just think of something -- is anything above your dishwasher (either counter or wall)? If there is, try moving that item and see if that helps. 🤞 You could also try moving the dishwasher to another location and see if that makes a difference.
Normally I would think this was a problem with Mods/Custom Content (CC) but you stated that you play with a vanilla game, so that shouldn't apply here! 😃
