How do you change the lot type first? Go into build mode? When I try to place the property it says that type is not allowed. If it is residential then it will let me but not residential rental. I do not know how to change the type when it is in the gallery or the ones I have built and saved. They are set to residential rental and I do not know how to convert them to residential.

If it's currently any residential lot type, you need to make sure that no one lives there. - 7dfd82b4d0d0c4b12 years agoRising Newcomer

Did you change the lot type to residential rental and save before placing the gallery lot?

@PipMenaceThat is the same issue that I am having. They are already set to residential rentals. If it is set to that in the gallery, it will not let you place them on any lot.

If it is set to residential Rental on the map or in the gallery you can not change it that I can figure out. It is grayed out and will not allow it.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@kxvwgy3uw5it Could you please test this on an new save game ?

Hello,
I started a new save, I went to the gallery and saved a res rental. I will attach the SS of it. I then went to the map, and this is what it tells you, not available for this lot. The reason is it is a residential lot. Now, if I had downloaded the same duplex, and saved it as residential, it would have changed it automatically to residential rental and worked.
If for some reason you don't like what you have placed from the gallery when you finally figure out how to get one to be able to be placed, it then changes it to only allow for residential rentals, which is OK, then you can place a residential rental. Let's say you change your mind though and want it to be a residential and not a residential rental, there is no way to change it back.
So the question is, how do you change a lot to what you need it to be or change what is uploaded to the gallery to what type of lot you want it to be?
How do you fix this issue?
Thank you,
Dee
@kxvwgy3uw5it Try this workflow:
- If you're already in the Gallery, select to download the lot to your Library
- Manage Worlds > Open the lot in Build/Buy
- Change lot type to Rental Residential (top left)
- Open the Gallery/Library from within Build/Buy and select the lot to place
