Unable to play with my sim(s)/ or household

I recently downloaded mods & cc to my pc, and they all worked perfectly fine the other day. However today when i tried to play, my household that I created was all deleted! I double checked my mod folder to ensure everything was installed n no lags, so I'm not sure what am i doing wrong. Secondly, whenever I made a new house/hold (since everything was erased even after i saved it) I still was sent to the world map and unable to access any households. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • GetBeamedDog It sounds like, unfortunately, you downloaded some broken mods - possibly more than one. There are many out there available to download, from creators who walked away from supporting them but left them online. See Previously Broken mods and CC for some of these. For those affected by the most recent patch, see Broken and Updated Mods and CC. For how to narrow down to find which mods are still broken after using the lists, see vanilla and 50-50 testing

  • That sounds frustating From my experience, I would say even though you think a mod is updated, always double check, like for example mcc updated, but then the very next day it updated again. Also, make sure every time you load in any new mods you are clearing out those L files, which are your local thumbnail folder and file, avatarcache file, your cachestr folder, and any last exception files or crashes you have under Documents >Electronic Arts>The Sims 4

Simeralla Localthumbcache doesn't need removal when adding a mod, only when removing them (and it doesn't matter for all mods, just enough that it's worth the routine). The other files won't break new mods either. When you're asked to remove last exception files, it's because you're being asked to recreate one for support and so many people can't seem to find the most recent one if they didn't delete the old ones.

These files are strongly encouraged by modders on their website to delete before or after adding new mods, and are also encouraged by support whenever there is a problem, especially on Deaderpoolers Discord. So, because I went through this issue before, I am simply telling the simmer what I do.

That advice is excessive, but I know some of it does help them with getting people to upload the right files for support.
