Wanting to download cc but I don’t know where to start or how etc

I am wanting to get some cc for my sims 4. I’m looking into pet items and perhaps some decor and hair... I just have no clue where to start or how to download it and what is safe to download and what ...

Bananas_45 has given some great tips! In regards to where to find awesome CC a lot of creators are on tumblr or wordpress. What I also like to use is CC Find websites, bananas already mentioned Lana CC finds but you should also check out Sims4Updates.net and also mmfinds.tumblr.com is another one of my favs!
