Best not to rely on mods too heavily as they can break and cease to be updated any time. I understand really enjoying a mod and how much it adds to the game, i have plenty I love like that, but it's entirely your choice to use it or not, and not at all the creator's responsibility what happens to your game if you choose to. You use them at your own risk.
They can keep their mods updated, if they wish. Equally, they can stop any time if they wish, too.

snarky?I also made it incredibly clear I understand the freedom of a modder…so spare me the preachy, dismissive attitude.
The reality is a modder has responsibility to either update their mods, or make sure that on each platform where they are providing their mod—it’s noted that it is not updated. KawaiiStacie currently has on her website this mod is fixed, but it IS NOT. In fact several of her mods listed on the first page of this thread are incorrectly marked as updated on her website. No one should have to
explain to you why that’s unethical.
