Will this be addressed before the expansion pack is released? It’s unacceptable that a game we all invested so much money into is suddenly unplayable. there were many issues on console that could have been addressed, and instead, EA seems to have made random changes that made things worse.
The only improvement for me is that selecting specialty cabinets/countertops/bunk beds is easier.
I was able to figure out how to scroll through the catalog with the d-pad, and I don’t see why, with the new tutorial mode, there isn’t a tutorial for how to use the new controls.
but even with knowing how to use the controls, they are clunky and don’t address the existing console issues that were already there. They only add to the existing issues.
issues prior:
-difficulty painting terrain realistically
-reduced roof-slope tools compared to PC
-no support for mods or cc
-missing live-camera/ free-camera controls to properly view interiors
new issues:
-multiple button presses required to enter/exit d-pad selection
-multiple button presses required to toggle cursor selection for desired tool-tips for selecting eaves, selecting rooms, copying items, deleting items, etc
-multiple button presses required to toggle cursor mode so rt/lt controls desired function instead of bringing up search
-multiple button presses required to toggle cursor mode to enter/exit live edit
in short, maintaining the catalog was not something requested by players, and it’s added extra steps to enter the preferred mode, provided players even know those extra steps exist. This mode should have a toggle, like the camera, at the very least.
Really, players ought to have been surveyed to find out what changes, if any, were needed. As is, the game has been made unplayable for a large number of customers who invested time and money into the franchise.
As one of many players who’ve played since the first iteration of The Sims, I’m disappointed to be ignored by the team for this long.
