I've gathered it here (and will continue too) and pinned it to the top of the thread purely to help you see and find these steps quicker. Please give them a go and let us know how you get on either way. ❤️

My Game is crashing. What can I try?
@PoptartJuniper has complied and shared some troubleshooting steps >>here<< to help limit the crashes. I've shared the steps under the spoiler tag as well, just click to expand. 🙂 Please try these steps as they may help with the crashes you're experiencing.
@manolobeach Are you receiving an error code? Also, the PS4 had a system software update just after the Sims updated. Please make sure you have that update installed. I would not rely on the PS4s auto update. Check it manually.
@ohh_dee7That error is a general error for PS4 and has nothing to do with the Sims game specifically. If you don't wish to do any troubleshooting for your system, then no one can help you. If you change your mind, I will supply a list of troubleshooting steps that you can follow. Or read the link I supplied to the error you are receiving. The same steps will be available there.
I'm getting the error code "CE-34878-0" when I crash!
For members seeing this Error Code "CE-34878-0", these specific steps may help from @PoptartJuniper. Click the spoiler tag directly below to view them. If that error message continues to pop up after trying the troubleshooting, please 'Report Problem' on PlayStation as @SimQARobo advised >>here<<. @SimGuruNick also asked if simmers could share a save with him via DM's (I'll share how further on in the next section).
If the crash is happening with the error code more than one time, there are a few troubleshooting steps for your specific Error Code. I would suggest checking all updates manually and not relying on the auto update on your PS4. Go through the steps one at a time and see if the game stops crashing after each step.
Occasionally it is useful for The Sims 4 team to collect user files (saves, videos, exception logs, etc.) in order to investigate issues.
These are the ways that you can share user files and media with The Sims 4 team:
(Note: These methods may have different file size restrictions. OneDrive or Google Drive is recommended for larger files. If you use OneDrive or Google Drive, please include your user name and a brief summary of the issue, so that we can identify it.)
PC/Mac:
Direct attachment (only for text files)
You can attach a text file directly to a forum post.
The resulting file download URL can be included in a forum post, private message, etc.
Most PC/Mac files that we request will be located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ . For example, game saves for The Sims 4 are located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\ .
Xbox One (videos and screenshots only):
Upload directly from Xbox One to OneDrive
How to record a video or capture a screenshot in Xbox One: LINK
The resulting file download URL can be included in a forum post, private message, etc. Please mention the names of the saves that are affected.
We may not accept files uploaded with any other means.

I spent over $100 on Sims 4 and expansion packs, and the game crashes or freezes every single time I play it. Since I can't ask for a refund, I want to know what you're going to do to fix it. It's pretty annoying.
Have you already tried to reinstall the game to make sure no files were installed wrong and causing issues?
Is the game crashing when you do something specific, or randomly?

Seems random. But it might be specific things the sims do. It seems to be overloaded. If that's the case I can't upgrade my ps4....so what can EA do for us on console I wanna refund at this point. $100 to sit and stare at the sims 4 game icon.....without the ability to play.

Another thing I swear to god don't give the the same old "did you format your hard drive? Delete and re download or do som wired reset to ps4?" ive tried everything but throw it against the wall. It's not ps4 all other games work flawless. I think it's compatibility issues and EA hasn't fixed it or dumbed it down enough to run smoothly.

I'm having the same issue now. I've updated everything that can possibly be updated. I've reinstalled, I even deleted everything Sims related off my system and started brand new. Nothing has fixed this problem. Between the cost of the base game, plus the bundle pack and "stuff" packs (I've personally purchased the bundle pack and one stuff pack), you'd think that EA would FIND & FIX the problem quickly. Sounds to me like this issue has been going on for some time. What's being done to fix it? Do you think that those of us who has spent so much money on an unplayable game could get some sort of compensation since refunds are not being offered?

I’ve reinstalled the game twice. Same thing keeps happening.
