My Game is crashing. What can I try?

@manolobeach Are you receiving an error code? Also, the PS4 had a system software update just after the Sims updated. Please make sure you have that update installed. I would not rely on the PS4s auto update. Check it manually.
@ohh_dee7That error is a general error for PS4 and has nothing to do with the Sims game specifically. If you don't wish to do any troubleshooting for your system, then no one can help you. If you change your mind, I will supply a list of troubleshooting steps that you can follow. Or read the link I supplied to the error you are receiving. The same steps will be available there.
I'm getting the error code "CE-34878-0" when I crash!
For members seeing this Error Code "CE-34878-0", these specific steps may help from @PoptartJuniper. Click the spoiler tag directly below to view them. If the crash is happening with the error code more than one time, there are a few troubleshooting steps for your specific Error Code. I would suggest checking all updates manually and not relying on the auto update on your PS4. Go through the steps one at a time and see if the game stops crashing after each step.
Occasionally it is useful for The Sims 4 team to collect user files (saves, videos, exception logs, etc.) in order to investigate issues.
These are the ways that you can share user files and media with The Sims 4 team:
(Note: These methods may have different file size restrictions. OneDrive or Google Drive is recommended for larger files. If you use OneDrive or Google Drive, please include your user name and a brief summary of the issue, so that we can identify it.)
PC/Mac:
Direct attachment (only for text files)

Most PC/Mac files that we request will be located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ . For example, game saves for The Sims 4 are located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\ .

When i try to connect myself on sims 4 on ps4 I have the same issue it happens to me every 5 min to... It sent me an error code CE-34878-0 saying my game or my systeme is not updated but everything is updated i have the lastest version < 1.3.27.3400 (32 bits) > .... and let me tell you when you spent over 100$ on a game and you're not able to play its so frustrating so i hope someone could be able to help us with that
I am having the same problem same error code .. All my other games work on ps4 with no problem its only the sims game that crashes....I bought all the exp and have all doc and I want my money back!!
The last week or so this game has been nearly unplayable, which considering the time and money put into this is unacceptable. The game crashes non stop during travel, leaving build mode, creat a sim, randomly in the middle of play. I have done ALL troubleshooting suggested for a similar problem I read about that occured in December. I have fully restored my playstation, the external hardrive, reinstalled game and all add-ons, deleted all old save files, started new, only for the same thing to occur. I am extremely frustrated and no longer know what to do. EA tells me to contact sony, sony says to contact EA. Back and forth, back and forth. There is NOTHING wrong with my system, all other games including VR work with no hitch, glitch, or crash, and as my game is all digital from the playststion store it cannot be a disc issue. With all previous saves deleted before system restoration a corrupted file seems highly unlikely.
Both game and system are all up to date. Please help ;_;
@wisechick8488 Ughh! I'm sorry to hear but glad I am not alone. I've put way too much money and time (my god the TIME) into this for this to be happening, EA needs to get on this. It isn't right or fair to us players.
I agree! It also seems to be a game issue not console since we are having aame issues on different consoles. Its crazy you cant do anything without it crashing! I hope EA fixes this before ECO drops on june 5. Its very frustrating!
@wisechick8488 Definitely a game issue. And EA keeps giving the run around when contacted via live chat. They need to own up to it being an issue on their end and stop with all the contact sony nonsense. It isn't system specific at all.
The issues are with the game. They want me to create another account.... but that defeats the purpose of playing. What happens when that starts to crash? You should check out their Facebook page nothing but complaints about their other games too. Something needs to be done it is not my account or console it is the game itself.
Come on EA, do SOMETHING about this. We want to play your game, and yet it is like you'd rather alienate and disregard the ones who buy your products. Wtf.
Same issue, PS4, no cheats or mods but various packs installed. Was playing just fine, toddler aged up and went into CAS to edit outfit, came out of CAS and got this error. Tried restarting game and console but keep getting this error when loading household... This is my generation challenge save so I’m pretty bummed
EDIT: just installed the 1.26 update and a PS4 system update and this is still not resolved.
@Fall4joy I absolutely would not count on it. I have been having this issue for a month plus now. All chats with EA ended the exact same with every rep telling me to repeat the same troubleshoots over and over again - the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result - but they come out of the woodwork because of a forum violation. Not only are they not listening to their costumers, they want to silence them when their lack of action leads to extreme frustration and a whole lot of money basically thrown away for nothing.
I thought at first it was because I just bought a new expansion pack and I use cheats but I tried a complete new game and had the same problem I'm just hoping it's fixed soon because this is the main game I play
@Unicornia6969 Hate to dissapoint you, but i’ve been waiting this game to be fixed nearly a year now and they haven’t so i’m guessing this is it, i’ve given up waiting ☹️ Mine has been almost unplayable since Sulani came out last July. Can’t travel, can’t take photos, can’t play big house lot’s anymore, buy mode crashes the game, and so does CAS etc. This game is too much for PS4 to handle, my other games work perfectly and i have tried every tips & tricks from here and i read these conversations weekly trying to find any new solutions.. Luckily i didn’t pre-order eco lifestyle, no more money wasting on The Sims.. Maybe i’ll give it a try once PS5 comes out but my hopes arent high that it will work any better
I'm having the same problem on xbox aswell! I've done everything.. it seems the longer I play the worse it gets aswell! The sound constantly lags out and glitches then the game just becomes unplayable!
There has been an issue with crashing while trying to travel and move around in the game. The latest patch did not address this and I want it to be known so there at least could be a fix for it. Many others have been wondering why the crashing on consoles has not been addressed. Crashing has been so bad since the release of the DU exp. pack.
This is a common thing with gaming devs and publishers where they will release content to pay for rather than fix issues plaguing their game. I’ve said the same thing about using forums to voice problems with this game but no solutions are offered. I wish I lived in Australia because over there they protect gamers and if a products is bad, you can request a refund. Only solution that has worked for me is starting a new game and forgetting about previous saved games. The sims is still a buggy mess but it’s playable.
Same issue Since University, as gotten worst after June 5th Patch, and the hotfix just completely made it spazz.
I did Trouble shoot, everything shot of reinstalling becauee I really don't wanna wait 10 hours to be able to use my game again.
- Travelling outside of household = Blue screen crash
- If i go intoo build mode more than 1 time = Blue screen crash.
- If i use any computers on a lot = blue screen crashes.
If i avoid all of the above.. Im usually ok.
It's been going on a very long time.. This issue needs to be adress... We can't play this game to the fullest until the blue screen crash is adress...
900$ is how much money i have on this game this far.. I think i get better service by Apple for a ptoduct that was only 800.
Fix this... It's been affecting people since 2017.. theirs a serious issue when a problem persist for years without any fallow up on what is actually being done to fix it.
OMG. This time it made it to the map before blue screen of death. DO SOMETHING EA. You are robbing your costumers. No better than a thief, the kind that takes their grandma's rent money and then asks her to borrow $20. :/
Game crashes after traveling, after switching from build mode, trying to save. I'm reloading every 10 minutes just trying to play. I've tried reinstalling the entire game and that didnt do anything. I have the most current update for both ps4 and the game and I renewed licenses. It's every save file. Before the update my game would crash occasionally when traveling but this is almost every single load screen and very frequent.
