Hey all,

This issue was resolved in Patch 1.70.

Please be sure to fully close and update your game- if you're still having crashing issues once your game is fully updated, please create a new thread here so we can investigate further.

Is there going to be a patch for the crashing issue for sims 4? After the university update the game constantly crashes. On loading, in build mode, save attempts, traveling, having your sims do things. This game has crashed on my Xbox 1 on every occasion. I can barely do anything without the game simply crashing. I only have 3 sims at max in 3 households so crashing should not be an issue. Please fix this.

The QA team is aware of the crashing issue for XB1.

For Crashes with Error codes, please open a bug report on the Bug Forum.

A current issue exists that is affecting saves and can cause issues. Please check this thread and post there if this is what you are seeing: [CURRENT ISSUE] Game creating tons empty households/Save game bloat/Insane Lag

For Crashing without error codes, please see the following:

These crashes are not reproducible crashes, they happen without warning and at different times during gameplay.

This issue is most common with:

Original XBox Consoles
Owning a lot of packs
Very old Saves
Saves with lots of played households
Lots of items in builds, including the use of lots of different packs in builds
Lots of Sims in relationship panels of played sims because of lack of game relationship culling (Think friend of the world on a sim without aging on, etc.)
The use of large lots (50x50, 64x64)

Deleting everything from sim and household inventories for all played sims may help with the crashing.

Saving your played sims and households/houses to the library and placing them down in a new save may help with the crashing.

The following is general troubleshooting, and may not help with this specific issue.

1. Turn off Your system completely

Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

2. Make sure your game is up to date.

To set your console to automatically receive updates:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > System > Updates & downloads.
Select Keep my console up to date for console and Keep my games & apps up to date for games and apps.

3. Make sure your Console system software is up to date.

4. Delete your Sims 4 Auto Save

On Home, select My games & apps.
Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game & add-ons.
In the menu on the left side of the screen, scroll down to Saved data, then highlight the saved data for your gamertag on the right and press the A button on your controller.
You'll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:
- Delete everywhere removes your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on. You do not want to sync the Autosave from the cloud, you want the game to make a new one.

On Home, select My games & apps. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game & add-ons. 5. Uninstall and Reinstall the Game.

Before you can reinstall a game, you must first uninstall it from the console's hard drive. To uninstall a game:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select My games & apps and then Games.
Highlight the game you want to uninstall, press the Menu button, and then select Uninstall.

You can then reinstall the game by inserting the disc or downloading it again from the Microsoft Store. To download the game again, go to My games & apps > Games and then select the game title from Ready to install.

Before you can reinstall a game, you must first uninstall it from the console's hard drive. To uninstall a game: Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select My games & apps and then Games. Highlight the game you want to uninstall, press the Menu button, and then select Uninstall. You can then reinstall the game by inserting the disc or downloading it again from the Microsoft Store. To download the game again, go to My games & apps > Games and then select the game title from Ready to install.

So I've been experiencing this issue for a while
As have many other players
From the forms I've read the suggestions are to make a new thread as the issues reported and fixed on the new update hasn't resolved the issue that we had already raised prior to this fix.
It's extremely frustrating that we have to keep reporting this and repeating ourselves again and again with the issues we are experiencing
Once trying to travel to a different destination or trying to interact with the camera and computer the game completely crashes the screen goes black and reloads back to the home screen.
I made a video of the crash as requested on my previous report for this bug. I'll provide the link below so you can see this yet again....
However on we are still being required to provide more information on the bug when it's been shown and described in many different ways by many different users.
Please get this fixed I am actually bored of reporting the same issues over and over again

  @PoptartJuniper Its still crashing after update why did you think it wouldn't? It didn't say in the patch notes that it was fixed i really dont think it will be anytime soon i think console players are very neglected

  New Patch same Problems! The game continues to crash when traveling and exiting not only build and buy mode but CAS as well.

    @JZK321 Same here. The more I play the more frequently it happens. Constantly having to start the game again.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? setup a character, load some things in each world. start taking care of a pet, attempt to take pet to vet. or load the world and wait 2 mins.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game will immediately crash. The game will instantly stop working and screen turns black and goes right back to Xbox dashboard/main menu. (no error is produced, no explanation as to why this is happening is shown). the game just crashes and i can no longer play it.
What do you expect to see? I expect the game to function.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

i could include a video, but all you will see is this:
the game loads,
i choose play to continue the game,
the world map loads up,
I press play to start the world i choose,
the picked area loads up,

i see buildings and all my stuff,
then i can just spin the view around (right thumb stick push to the right or left and and up down)
i do this for about 2 mins and the game will immediately crash to black and stop working and exits.
OR
i can choose to visit the vet and it will crash after it starts the moving to new area animations

basically no matter what i choose to do, the game crashes after a few minutes (no more than 5mins, no less than 2mins)

i am unable to play the game at all at this point.

Things i have tried to fix this issue:

Every "Help" thing on this forum,
I have deleted the save
I have deleted the auto save and redownloaded it from the cloud
I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it

I have completely factory reset and deleted my hard drive on my xbox and started from scratch
-installed the xbox os
-installed the game
-installed each DLC in the order that it was released for console by date (there is only 4 that i do not own at this point)

No matter what i choose to do, it will crash every time, there is no work around for this, there is no quick fix, this is a programming error somewhere that needs addressed.

the only other thing i can provide here is my console version: perhaps that is the issue in conjunction with your game

  @HindeanODB This crash is happening when you try to load a family? Just when travelling?

  @HindeanODB I've moved your post to the current thread on this issue. Please read and do the troubleshooting in this post here XB1 Crash for Travel/Save/Build/CAS Troubleshooting. I would try deleting your autosave from your console and cloud and letting the game generate a new one. This has helped others but not everyone.
  
  Other users have had success migrating their sims to a new save by saving everything they want to save into the library and placing them in a new game. A thread discussing this is here Very Frequent Blue Screen Crashes
  
  PS4 users are submitting saves to the bug team to have this looked at, unfortunately only PS4 and PC users can share saves.
  
  EA is aware of this issue and looking into it.
  
  You did not provide any answers to my questions regarding your crash, and it sound similar to the already reported issue.

My Sims doesn’t load up now and when it does it just crashes no matter what im doing... the update was not a help for console players...
I don’t use cc or mods...
I do use gallery lots and families.
I am on Xbox....
I own majority of the packs but I refuse to buy anymore in the less few months due to the fact the game is bug infested....
My game doesn’t load up and when it does it crashes when I try to loAd into a lot.... or I get on the lot... I dnt press anything then I crash... I try loading in commercial lots... I crash..
I tried starting a new game on a new account clean slate... I crashed trying to start the game but eventually got in made a new chick then started a tiny home build... I crashed during the build....
I’ve completely stop playing and it’s killin me😭

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By going into build mode then exiting build.
What happens when the bug occurs? It won't let me move then it freezes then it takes me to my home screen.

    On Xbox1, I got two households where I got the issue of crashing when exiting build mode.
    Usually the first time I open buildmode and exit it all works fine but if I do it a seconde time the game crashes.
    The weird thing is that (at least for now) it is just happening for those 2 households on their homelot.
    This has started after I installed NK btw.

this is so frustrating, spent a whole day going through everything and then waiting for everything to reinstall and download, then the same thing is happening again now today.
For me it's crashing when i go back into live mode, or when trying to save.

I have literally played 1 sim day in the last 3 days,

ive had item disappear as i don't have the content (which i do)

seems to have happened since i installed eco lifesyle

@PoptartJuniper Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you select “delete everywhere”, do you really lose all of your saved files?

  @daneliz9265 Delete from everywhere deletes the selected save data from the console and cloud.
  
  If you are playing on a very old save game, or a game that has a lot of played households and full lots, you are more likely to crash. Deleting everything from household and sim inventories for all played sims, and reducing the amount of items in builds may help with an old save.
  
  A patch was put out for PS4 last month to help with this issue, but it hasn't come to XB1 yet.

[XBOX ONE] My Sims 4 has been working Perfectly fine until This new update happened. After The update was installed my Game keeps crashing when I am playing in Live mode & sometimes even when I am trying to save. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my game and add-Ons as well as turning off my console, unplugging it and turning it back on. All other games play just fine and I have more then enough storage on my system so I know it’s something with the game. Again my Sims has been working perfectly fine until the new update came in place now I can barely play. I have pretty much all the expansion pack except 3 including the new snowy escape from the update & I was happy to spend my money on this game but not for things like this to happen. I need a resolution for this!

  Same with me on Xbox one. They seem to be working on it for all other devices. Once its fixed for them will it fix for Xbox too?

Patch 1.34 was just released to address the crashing introduced in patch 1.33. Please update your game and restart your console before launching your game.

This patch does not fix the longstanding crash issues reported in this thread, only the ones from patch 1.33. Please see the checkmarked post on the first page of this thread for any updates.

  The 1.34 patch did not fix my issue. My game still crashes at 2am game time. Every time my sim goes to sleep, time does not automatically speed up. I've tried no sound and with sound. This is a bit ridiculous. I really don't want to uninstall all my expansions because itll take me 5 years to reinstall them all and I have a feeling that wouldn't even help the matter.
  I guess my next step is to delete all my saves and hope for the best. I seriously wish there was a way on xb1 to uninstall recent updates. I believe it would've caused less of a headache.
  I understand there are people working hard on the issue, but damn this sucks.

  Okay, so I deleted all my saved files and started a new game. That seems to have worked for now. I'm able to save frequently, and make it passed 2AM without the game crashing.
  Fingers crossed, but this is the most I have been able to play since that update last week 😬🤞🏻

    @lowkeyplantlady I had to upload all of my households and lots to my library, make a new game, re place everything and its been working great now. Makes me question is my previous save files were corrupt or something

  I just tried a few things to see if they would help.
  1. Removed Father Winter goal from Winterfest.
  2. Turned off all sound in settings.
  3. Saved as new game.
  4. Ended Winterfest early.
  After doing this I saved again and this time I got an error message saying the game couldn't save. Error 22. It said to reload the game. Then it crashed. I tried to reload and at first it wouldn't open saying it took too long to start, so I tried again and it's stuck on the loading bar about 2/3 along. I keep hearing little clicks from my console every few minutes. Currently trying again for the third time so fingers crossed.
  I've previously tried reseting caches on my console, plus uninstalling and reinstalling. This is getting really frustrating now. I'm on generation 14 so I'd be heartbroken to lose my game.
