How many EPs do you have installed? I have only about 5 EPs and have never encountered such a problem on PS5, but there are always some other persistent bugs. There is a report about the For Rent expansion pack corrupting save files on PC. I never buy the pack. There are also players who get so many bugs as soon as they increase the number of installed packs. It seems unfair that PC players can have mods helping fix some of the bugs while console players don't have such help.
I hope they will work on fixing it asap. - RheaFallout2 months agoSeasoned Ace
Have you uninstalled and re installed the game and all DLC? uninstall it by pressing options then going down to delete on the sims 4 game on the profile home screen then redownIoad everything from your library. That fixed the game for me when I got the application data corrupted message pop up and couldn't load the sims anymore. I'm on ps4 too.

I completely agree with you. The bugs are persistent and far too numerous. And the loading times... awful on PS4, I don't know if it's better on PS5. I feel less alone in this "PlayStation" feeling. I have almost all the EPs, but the bug really occurs at the very beginning of the game launch. The usual tab for loading the game is black with "Corrupted Data" written on it, and it's impossible to go any further. It started after the game crashed, as it does so often these days, randomly if you load terrain, a move, or even when trying to save... and I wanted to update to the latest PS4 update, thinking maybe that's it, and then the data is corrupted, and I can't restart the game. I can't explain it, and it's frustrating. I'm going to try new alternatives to try to restart the game, but I'm afraid of losing things.

Thank you for your comment and the instructions on how to do this. No, I haven't done this yet. I admit I was afraid of losing everything, and since I have a lot of DLC, I was also afraid of how long it would take. I'll give it a try!

I was building in San Myshuno when this happened to me, no warning just crashed and gave me that message. I was wary the first time I had to do this too but you won't loose your save files by doing it this way you're just uninstalling the game application and all the DLC can be re installed separately one at a time so it should be quicker than installing it all at once cause urgh the WiFi speeds are on PS4 are so bad and I had the same reservations about having to install all my dlc too. Also after you've installed the base game you can press down when you hover on the sims on your ps4 homescreen and it'll have an option to manage and reinstall your dlc/addons from there or you can just install them from the sims game in your library. There was also a PlayStation system update a few days ago too if you're like me and have auto updates off and didn't know there was one 😣
