Yes I agree with this.however if you hit the little square window button right next to the three lines then you can scroll the build buy menu lilke you use two.
So I didn't notice a difference from the old game controls on console until I popped into build and buy mode. So far, my game hasn't been crashing like everyone else's, but here's a list of why I personally hate this new update.
1. The catalog doesn't close. I personally like to see everything that I'm doing when I'm in build and buy mode, and since I have a small TV, I can't see much when I'm in build and buy mode.
2. When I click the undo button, the search bar always comes up. I HATE THIS SO MUCH. Console simmers don't have a manual undo button, so we use the LT button to undo something. Well guess what? This update makes it so freaking hard. When you press the undo button, the search bar automatically pops up. I don't want this to happen every single time I try to undo something.
3. The rotate button is annoying. Similar to the undo button, when I try to rotate an object, the search bar pops up. This only happens when I pick something out of the catalog and try to rotate it. So, for example, if I click on an already existing object, I can rotate it without the search bar popping up, but it's still extremely annoying that I have to place the object after it's already been placed and then rotate it.
4. The swatches are inconvenient. If I want to pick the swatch of an item, I have to go to the very left of the extremely small box and click on the swatches. ANNOYING.
I build a lot in the Sims, so I have actual beef with this update, we were so much better without it. If I wanted to play on PC, I would've got it on PC. But I have it on Xbox. I don't understand why they would change the console version to be more like the PC version. Like, I'm pretty sure no one asked for this.
Anyway, I hate this update and they need to change it back to the way it was. Of course, we know that they probably won't do this. But one can dream, right? Please change them😞

Another day, another load of problems to report. I tried to delete a small room on the Narwhal Arms which is like a tower. Instead of deleting it...it rotated it (see images). I couldn't delete it with the sledgehammer as I keep getting leftover floating ceilings I can't remove.
I've already posted a bug report here on a BB catalogue problem where I get the wrong sections, but today I was actually getting the wrong items too.
Search was popping up every time I didn't want it to and there's a bug thread here:
I also couldn't delete flooring in one sweep. Just one tile at a time, tap tap curse tap grr tap tap aargh tap tap. Image attached of my frustrating and time consuming task. I gave up and used grass tiles instead because I can't paint terrain in one sweep either.
