@gators82577  You can upload it to a google drive or youtube and supply the link if you can't get the video to embed using the post tools.

I've embedded video that I saved from my Playstation into a post before using the insert a video in the post tools but I am not certain the format XBox uses for its video clips.

Or did you just record it on your phone? You may need to download it to your PC and use a program to save it in another video format. 

I am not sure if I am able to record it straight from the xbox since I don't think I can set things to record after the game has fully exited and been brought back to the home screen.  I can try it again later today and see if that is possible.  In the meantime, I was able to upload the video I took on my phone to google drive, and I have the shareable link posted here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RZml_IVBgGmAV9qkiMfsVAwBk0eKNcCa  

I will attempt to take more videos of this later and upload them since I really want to get back into playing this game.  If there are certain circumstances that I should test out and record to see their results then let me know.  Thank you for your help thus far, I hope some sort of right direction can be found here.

I’m not really sure how this things works, so I will ask you since you seem to be the only one responding. Is someone from EA going to look into this and work on a solution?  It seems really disheartening that no one from EA is responding to this and it has been two months on this post and TWO YEARS on the previous thread that this was discussed on.  The problem was so prevalent that I just uninstalled university and play the game with less crashes (though they do happen still).  I should try to get my money back but if EA doesn’t care enough to even send one person to respond to this then why would they care about offering a refund on a clearly broken product.

There are EA staff on the forums like myself but we aren't able to respond to every post to confirm we've seen it and are looking into things. That doesn't mean we're not though. 🙂

Can you share where and what you're doing in-game when the game crashes for you so we can try to reproduce it. And does it always crash at the same point?

Edit to add: does this also happen when you take your pet to visit the vets?

What additional information do you need?  I provided a video showing it happen, an entire thread of people explaining that the same thing happened to them (a thread you closed as solved for some strange reason), and a description of the scenario as the original post to this thread.  Please give me something specific that the team would need to know and I will do my best to provide it. 

Edit: to answer your edit question: sometimes it does but that isn’t the only thing that causes the crash, seemingly it is whenever you’re trying to leave the home lot to travel somewhere else.

Dear fellow simmers, 

Is it just me having problem with sims 4 on xbox one today? Its working fine then will randomely close on me from time to time. Then I start it again, its ok and it will close again. Anyone else experiencing this?

I got eco lifestyle when came out and there was no problem at all it appeared only today.

So you guys have any advise for me maybe?

Everytime I open my sims game and get to live mode it won’t let me click on anything, and when it does no options pop up, it won’t let me save, and then it crashes.

Is this issue still occurring for you? 

If so, could you perform a hard reboot of your console to clear your cache?

Xbox One Hard Reset:

1. Holding the power button down for 10 seconds while the system is on will perform a hard reset.
2. The Xbox One Will Switch Off.
3. Power on the Xbox One again. You’ll see a green start-up screen.
4. All your data is preserved, but the cache will be cleared and settings may reset

If this doesn't fix your issue then you might try uninstalling then reinstalling the base game and all the packs and see if that solves your problem.

Hopefully one of these two will fix the crash issue.

If not, then we will need to investigate more of what is going on.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Eco lifestyle happens randomly in game play approx 20 mins into game doesn’t matter what I’m doing there will be a sudden buzzing noise then it freezes and logs out to Xbox home screen and loose all game progress to last save

After a month of not being able to play after installing Eco Lifestyle, I saved my house and my household to my library and started a new save. I was able to keep my progress and simoleons but lost my inventory. Maybe this will help.

I know that the June update caused crashing etc. and that there was supposed to be a ‘hot fix’ or something but I’ve even had the July update and it’s still crashing. I didn’t notice until today because I was away for two weeks but I have tried all the advice in restarting, resetting etc. I even deleted some games off my Xbox in case it was a storage issue. I tried for an hour and no result.

I see that you are on an older version of the game 1.27.3.2300.

Please update to the newest version that came out recently which is 1.28.72.2300 and see if that fixes your issue.

That update had some fixes to reported crashes that were happening.

Ever since the update with knifty Knitting I can not play without crashing or have other issues. It will completely exit out of the game and if I open it I have to start over. I've uninstalled everything and reinstalled it, that didn't work. My character does not follow the commands well. The fast forward freezes a lot. I've had a glitch where they won't go to work no matter what I do or if I tell them to do something the command completely disappears. I have everything except for eco-living. I've tried rebooting the system and clearing the cache. This is been a problem for a very long time but it got so much worse after this update.

Is ea going to do something about this. I am to the point where I am going to stop playing or buy any other games from EA. It is apparent that others aren't satisfied with other games made by EA either. So please don't take my word lightly. Just tell us if it can be fixed or not so we can make the decision to deal with it or move and no longer invest money into this game. Ty

I now have 2 of my main houses that won't load. I crash to my Xbox home screen every time. Family #1 has a home lot file size of 573kb and a family size of 657kb according to the gallery.  Family #2 has a home lot file size of 6mb and a family size of 145kb. Not sure how that lot file got so big. Anyway, it was completely playable 2 months ago with zero problems. Now it will not load. My gallery has been cleaned up.  Tons of Maxis files removed. When will my game stop crashing while traveling? When will my lots be playable again?  We've been waiting for a fix way too long! 

I've done all the steps you recommended and it did not help at all. This IS an EA issue that needs to be addressed.

This started when I was below 80 sim households. I done all of the troubleshooting methods. I even deleted my saved game and started fresh. Hopefully this get fixed soon it is starting to make the game unplayable and is taking the desire to play away.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By playing a game (on console) for some time in evergreen harbor.
What happens when the bug occurs? After playing a game for 1-2 hours or maybe less tbh the sound starts to cut off and act weird. Kinda like talking to someone on the phone with bad service. If you continue to play the game after that starts it’ll take about 5 minutes before your game completely crashes. All progress lost if not saved on time.
What do you expect to see? Game should not crash thanks to the addition of an expansion pack. The load screens are also very affected and the game is pretty much unplayable at that point.
