Sims 4 ''Purging''

I bought a gamepack last year & it purged all my Sims on all save files. I had to start all over & was happier with the do-over on my new progress. Then, on the 25th of January, I bought City Life for the Sims 4 & it purged all my progress on all saves yet again! This is on the Xbox Series X, mind you. Is there a fix for it? And could the developers of EA solve this bug please? Because it's really frustrating that I bought a new Gamepack for The Sims 4 & I had to experience anger upon finding all my progress Purged.
