The Sims 4 - Critic career wont let me choose branch Art/Food Critic

Question

I have joined the Critic career and when getting to the select branch option of either food or art critic I cant select either to join. It allows me to view each of the jobs but the tick does not appear to allow selection.

I have tried multiple restarts from save points and the same thing happens, also left and re joined the career but get the same issue. Once the menu appears the only thing i can access is the pause menu and have to exit to main menu.

Has anyone else experiened this issue and how to get around? Had to start a different career

I've experienced this issue as well but withe the sports career bodybuilder/footballer? Seems to be a new issue though, I saved when the box prompted me to select a career path and reloaded, when i load it just chose a random option. To clarify the tick doesn't appear for me either therefore i wasn't able to select a path.&nbsp;

Just making sure... have you leveled up the career far enough to choose a branch? You start off as a generic critic and have to do that job until you reach level 4. At level 4 you choose which branch you want.

&nbsp;I'll have to check it out when I get a sim into a new career path. (that'll take awhile though so hopefully a patch will be released by then.) One really bad thing about console is we don't usually get any quick fix patches like on pc.. and since bug reports will just trickle in since it takes more time for players to experience the same stuff and not everyone will be buying the same packs or experiencing the same game. .. it's going to be a crapshoot as to what gets reported and fixed.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The same thing is happening with me, I'm in the social media career path. When the screen prompted me to choose a branch, it essentially froze. I kept clicking on both options but I had no option to progress futher, or exit the screen. I was still able to save my game while stuck on this screen, I restarted my PS4 and now it works. Very strange little bug.

Yep I’m having this issue as well I’m doing the politics career and can’t select either charity organiser or politician. All I can do is hear a phone ring or pause the game. It’s so annoying because now I can’t do anything with this character until it’s fixed.
