Was this only happening in CAS, and were all buttons unresponsive or only a few?
Please try a full power cycle on your console with these steps and let me know if this happens again:
- Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds. This will shut down your console completely.
- Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 30 seconds so the power supply is reset.
- Plug the console power cable back in.
- Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
I was able to fix it by restarting the game (yes I was in CAS) and I lost the sims I was making in the process and had to restart making the family
