Hey so I still have the folder within the electronic arts folder called the sims 4.
When my game initially wouldn't turn on due to error saying Sims already running in background. I changed the name of the alias file electronic arts file and the electronic arts file in my hard drive. For whatever reason this fixed the game to where it would run with no error. But now my saves will not appear. I checked the symlinks and the file paths are correct I believe. I have both the Sims 4 and all of my mods/cc on an external drive. Origin is still on my computer however.

If you changed the file name the game will have created a new Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder in the local Documents folder. This will have fixed the error message because the game had the correct permission to access the Sims 4 folder. The error message “already running” is due to a permissions issue. It is explained in my guide which, hopefully, you read?
