After quitting game desktop windows stay open

Hi! I'm playing the sims on my macbook and I've recently noticed an issue where when I save and quit the game it will take me to my home screen once the game quits but it also keeps a frozen screen of the game open on a different desktop page. It won't let me close the window either and the only way for me to get rid of it is by completely shutting down my computer. I currently have two frozen sim windows open. Has anyone had this problem? I would love some advice! Thanks!  (attached a screenshot of the windows)
