Re: Game Data Incomplete, grey llamas, red and white sims, broken textures

I need advice so bad!!

I was using Clean My Mac to delete some old files and accidentally deleted some sims files. Now, my sims are rendering red with question marks all over. I'm guessing the CAS files were affected or something.

I don't have any custom content, but I do have mods. I've tried turning those off. Listing below everything I've tried:

  1. Turning off my mods (no custom content installed)
  2. Repairing games files (twice)
  3. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

I'm on generation 8 of my legacy, so I need help, please. Any guidance would be appreciated 🙌

Thank you in advance.

Never, ever, use awful software that claims to "clean up" your Mac. This is a classic example as to why. They often remove files and folders that are needed for apps to properly run, even removing vital OS files sometimes that destabilise the OS resulting in it needing to be reinstalled. If you need further proof, google the app you used or other apps that do this and you'll find thousands of forums posts including on Apple's support forums as to why you should never use them. They are simply not necessary but seem to be popular amongst people who have switched from Windows to Mac.

Your game installation or user data is corrupted. See the solution in the opening post of this thread I have moved your posts to and follow the instructions in an attempt to get your game working properly again.
