I'm trying to install the new patch but Origin is telling me that I don't have enough room. I definitely do! I tried clearing caches, restarting, etc. and I know this is a known problem but I can't find a solution for Macs.

I've never posted here before but I've got a problem. I went into Origin yesterday and the Sims said I need an update -- ok, fine, whatever -- only I keep getting error message after error message telling me that my "designated Hard Drive is full". I went in and looked, and I was low on space, so I freed some up, only I am still getting the error message. I have about 15 GB free -- is this an operator error or something else?

Click on the Apple in the top menu bar then About This Mac > Storage. How much space do you have? Where is your game and Origin installed?

I got the exact same problem. And I can't find out how much space the latest update needs on my harddrive. Searched for it on all websites TS4 related. So if anyone has a clue how much space there is needed for this september update, I'd love to hear it. And if this is problem just for mac users, then why did they release the update already?
When I try to update the Sims 4, it fails and states: "You are out of space on your designated hard drive. Please make some room before resuming your download". The update is only around 6gb and I have plenty of storage left on my Macbook. Why is this occuring?

Could you please provide the details requested by Bluebellflora? Since it's not yet clear why this error occurs, more information would be very helpful.
Hi, I can only find information on how to do this on a Windows computer. I'm on a Mac that runs OSX

It would be helpful if you could provide the information Bluebellflora has asked for in the second comment in this thread. And no, you can't run a dxdiag in macOS, but the other requested info will be useful.
This happens to me too! And I cannot find a solution anywhere. I have more than 30gb available, and I have reinstalled origin but there has been no change. I can't play sims without installing the update.

Origin/Sims is installed in Applications; I never changed it from the default settings. I have over 15 gigs free -- not a ton, but it's never been a problem before. When it goes to load, it says the update needs like 6.5 gigs which...I definitely have.
